I assume you've not found that quote then?

Give your glasses a clean, it's on this fucking page lol.

Jesus wept
My quote about alcohol to under fives that you claimed I'd made earlier on, which I never did?

Yeah, I'm calling it now, you have to be on a windup because no one is this thick.

Under fives? I've never mentioned them.

I replied to another poster who questioned that 5 year olds were allowed to drink in a private place and I clarified that they indeed are legally allowed to do so. You quoted that reply telling me I was wrong. I even reposted it for you on page 12. I can't make it any more simple than that for you to understand so I am now officially giving up on you

I am not struggling to grasp anything. You appear to be promoting the absurd suggestion that any bar staff or checkout operator etc. should automatically assume that the person they are selling alcohol to will be giving it to a minor to drink in a public place. It is not their job to assume this and to suggest otherwise is patently nonsense. Unless there is clear evidence* presented for the seller to KNOW that the alcohol will be passed on in such a manner then they are not liable and are in fact being a complete jobsworth.

You still haven't cited any case law to disprove that.

*standing next to someone who may or may not look under age is not evidence. I can't believe I even had to type that as it's so obvious but apparently not to you.
You won't be getting any case law as there isn't any per se as it's an established principle that it is the responsibility of serving staff to decide whether alcohol will be passed onto a minor, which is directly at odds with what you posted on Page 6, which now seems to be suffering the death of a thousand qualifications, it has to be said.

For the avoidance of doubt:

<a class="postlink-local" href="http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=295593&start=50" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">viewtopic.php?f=1&t=295593&start=50</a>

Think you're right that a complaint would be pointless however it is not their job to decide whether or not the alcohol might be passed to someone else.

I repeat, as I did earlier, "knowingly" does enter into it, but it still remains their responsibility.

Last week in Manchester a lad of 17 went out on the town, got pissed and ended up - sadly - dead.
People on this forum were scathing of bar staff serving someone under age, bouncers letting him in, suggestions of using false ID and how could he slip through the net etc etc etc.

Now we see a case where proper checks were in place and bar staff doing their job and people are up in arms! Well done the staff at BRFC

I doubt that the barmaid knew what a kerfuffle she would cause later here on blue moon! 11 pages of posts no less.

My 19 year old lad said he'll just have a coke in future to save all this hassle at the game and later on blue moon.

Or just take a drivers licence or passport with him ;)

Well put mate. My girlfriend works in a Weatherspoons and she's made to ask for I.D for people who look under 25 she hates it but it's her job.

I love the word Fracas and hate to see it misused like this.

Other than that well done for standing your ground, a few years ago in Tescos I bumped into a mate by the checkouts. He was asked to show ID for his crate of lager just as I had wished him all the best and went to buy a few things, the women called me back and demanded to see my ID which I didn't have. I am 21, don't look particularly young and by virtue of me saying hello to my friend she thought he may give me some of his lager beers and refused to sell them to him. What a jobsworth.
