Why would we put the Fred deal on hold to work out the Mahrez deal?

Did everyone at the club catch the flu on holiday and we’re working with a skeleton staff?

I can’t imagine we can’t make both happen from a financial standpoint given the reported incoming FFP 2.0 and outgoings in the summer.

Well again the context of the discussion was that we need to sign a DM THIS WINDOW because we don't have the depth in midfield. I don't believe that is the case. If you want to further support my argument, by all means go ahead.
Your argument was that Kompany could cover for Fernandhino, which is, frankly, an absurd idea. Is it not?

can we morph the Fred & Leicester City rumours together and go for Wilfred Ndidi from them instead?

If Ferna gets injured, who comes in? Let's hope Gundogan can play there.

Gundogan can most definately play there. Delph can probably play there along with Stones and Laporte. Conversely, we're one injury away from disaster up top. An extended injury to Sterling could catastrophically derail our entire season. Diaz has huge amounts of potential, but he is too physically small right now to compete at this level. The few minutes that he has been given showed that the opposition can ease him off the ball with ease. The problem is that I can't see us signing anyone of note before the window shuts. There just isn't adequate time remaining to pull off any major business.

For 4-5 games at home against lower level opposition if we don't have the option of a traditional midfielder...no it is not.

Sam Lee has said we'll try until the deadline. Let's hope his sources are right. Getting Fred now would be awesome.
