French Tunisian and Kuwait Terrorist attacks {merged}

Just watched a couple from Manchester on sky saying they want to come home now as it wasn't much fun round the pool and the hotel entertainment seemed like their heart wasn't in it.!!!
Lost for words

Was there in 2011 and it was an amazing resort. The people are fabulous and it's a shame that it's become such an unsafe place to have your holiday. I love North Africa and visited Egypt last year and would have loved to have gone to morroco this summer as it was the last place to tick off my list but it's not worth the risk
Guess I will just have to put up with the Narcos in Mexico instead

I think they were expressing their thoughts with regard to the sombre mood about the place, tbf.

Witness Lee Inwood said his wife was "confronted" by the terrorist on the beach before the attack.

The couple were walking towards the sea when she stumbled on a children's spade and nearly fell into a group of people, Mr Inwood said.

The Briton said among the four local men and four local women was the gunman who confronted her.

Mr Inwood said the group was later acting "very strangely" and the women were taking photos of the men with tourists' children and also pictures of holidaymakers on sunloungers without permission.

He said "something was not right, it feels weird" and claimed local people do not normally "hang around" that area and leave the tourists alone.

He thought the photos were "trophy pictures".

Mr Inwood also said he was told by his hotel director that there were three gunmen in the attack, not just one that authorities claimed. He said he had given a statement to British police.

Found that piece interesting on a skynews article. Chilling if true

whilst I do feel for the Tunisian people who are going to suffer tremendously as a result of the economic hardship these events will bring I have to say part of the answer is in their own hands. If the were to condemn the people doing this and to tell the authorities about people and places where radicalization is taking place they would be showing that this is indeed " not in their name"

At the same time the irony is not lost on me of the million marchers in London and more around the uk who all told Blair " not in my name" and that made fuck all difference - in a supposed democracy.

I also accept that there is a time line that inexorably links those two events.

Surely some videos or pictures would have emerged by now that would show if there was more than one gunman. Or even just another witness who saw multiple gunmen on the beach.

I've been to Tunisia for the past 3 years. First time we went we stayed in Souse near where this happened, for the last 2 years we've stayed in Hammermet which is further north up the coast. I'm only posting to add my voice to the many that say how great the Tunisian people are. Everyone we met over the last 3 years have been very kind & friendly. What a massive shame this is for them. We were going to go back, but the morning we were going to book the shooting happened in the museum in Tunis. So we decided differently and are going to Ibiza on Wednesday. If we had booked Tunisia our holiday would have been cancelled (which is a bigger deal for us as we have a disabled daughter who is booked into Francis House for a week). It's all so sad, I'm glad we decided not to go... yet feel bad for thinking we made the right decision considering whats happened. Gutted for everyone involved in this!
