I dont think Barca have the money to challenge us for De Jong. Of course if he is desperate to go there then we wont win but in a straight up cash battle we will beat Barca.

Wage bill is rocketing and not many assets to sell to fund new players.

This is an amateur conclusion to make on both counts, transfer fee won't preclude Barcelona's pursuit or ability to close a deal anymore than not having assets to sell.

This after net spending of a fraction of their transfer kitty last summer. They are well positioned to make at least 2 key & major signings - one of which will unquestionably be a CB and the other a CM

He seems very level headed and pleasant indeed.

Thus far it seems like a fight between us and Barca for him with Bayern sniffing around a bit to. It will be interesting to see what he decides. Who knows, he may even stay another season, doubt it though.
