Frenkie de Jong

Fernandinho seems the obvious , and only one ?

I must admit a summer of fern and Sterling for de jong and haaland would be some improvement .

with a total outlay of £65 million (haaland release clause)
Fernandinho hardly plays though, I'm not against getting De Jong, but I don't see where he plays, unless Bernardo is definitely still wanting to go.

I’m certain if de jong was here he would of played a lot more than fern so far this season

Would be fighting with rodri and gundog for there spots I would imagine

Rodri has been one of our best players this season, I can't see them both being happy shaying that position. If De Jong comes, my guess would it would be with a longer term view of replacing possibly Bernardo, hopefully not, and Gundogan.

I'd take De Jong in a swap for Sterling. In a 4.3.3 he would fit that middle 3. We currently play 3 from:

Gundo, Rodri, Fern, Silva, KDB.

Fern will be gone next year and Gundo is 31. Silva might want to move on as well.

I'm hoping that Sterling makes way for Haaland (or another striker)

So who makes way for DeJong? Fernandinho?
I can`t see Ferno (as much as I love him) being offered a further contract, but who knows he may well be offered a coaching role at City.By all accounts he keeps a firm grip in the dressing room and as team/club captain is very well respected by one and all in corridors of power at The Etihad and the players also love him.
Has done well since taking over from Vinny. So in answer to your question I see De Jong as the replacement for my hero Ferno.

I see Foden and/or Grealish shifting to those positions over the next season or two. Also depends how we see Mcatee and Lavia progressing over the next couple of seasons too. I think if Sterling goes his place taken by a striker.
I see the attraction of De Jong, not sure the club will see him as a priority.
