Frenkie always knew he could not be on the Barto wage if he wanted to stay. Laporta is trying to get a wage progression structure and Frenkie being that high and young, due for many extensions in his Barca career, would always totally fuck that up. There wont be another Pique or Busquets the next 20 years, the wage progressions will look WAY different. Otherwise Barca wont survive. Its about setting an example for the "future" stars Pedri and Gavi as well.
Barca-players median-income has been way marketprice overpaid the last 10-12 years.
