Frenkie de Jong

Serious question, why are people unhappy with a direct player swap? and why are people not classing him as a decent player?

I think a lot of posters just want to keep Bernardo.

FDJ is a good player but not that similar to Silva, then again, not many are.

FDJ wages might be a problem for us (I’m guessing) and posters probably also remember him turning us down to go to Barca when it appeared he was coming.

I don’t think many would say he isn’t at least decent.

I mean, when someone offers you near nigh half a million to play, at that age, it's difficult to Judge, especially since the club was posturing a fake financial status at that time.

Quality of player is highly subjective, I've seen many players come to us and become World Class, through coaching and of course Pep.

He must realise at this point, that these wages are the downfall of his situation. I don't think he'll be on a wage like that for a while.

Don't know, I think if it weren't for the deferred wages problem the swap might have happened.

Speaking for myself, it is not either of those. It is that I think there is absolutely no interest in that from the club.

I suspect its the simple fact that most rate him higher than FDJ and much higher than you evidently do.

Gundo doesnt look like he is going anywhere soon either, which is who FDJ would be competing with.

You would think so but why then have La Liga not rolled over already? They’ve knocked Barca’s registrations back a couple of times so far and since then things have got worse for Barca. Their season starts in 3 days and, as it stands, none of their new players can play.

I guess it’s crunch time.
Nothing to say the league are not advising them on how to navigate through it. If their current situation is glaringly suspicious as is reported, then the league have to be seen to at least be following the rules themselves. However they can also help them get around it in the background as I say.
La Liga are nothing without Barça or Real, lose either and it effects them to a point I doubt they’d recover. The money they bring in is the only reason the league is “respected” for want of a better phrase, it’s in their interest to help Barça through this and allow them to bring in the top players so they can promote the fact all these player want La Liga over say the PL.
I’m also surprised on another note, how quiet Real have been about this. No call for point deductions or fines is telling to me. I’d guess they are also aware of the impact if Barça go bump or can’t compete. El Classico is the worlds biggest ‘none derby’ derby lol. Lose that and the entire league becomes the SPL overnight.
Just my thoughts anyway, doesn’t mate it true I know.

Anyone else find it a bit sad that when a lot of people talk about Bernie the first thing they mention is his energy and work rate ?
He's so much more than that
