I dont claim to understand barca's fucked up buisness! From what I know, Earlier 24.5% of barca studios was sold and now 25%. They are not selling to themselves literally but created a third company where they jointly hold shares. They showed la liga income received from the third lever (selling 24.5% for 25 years) was 660m or so but actually they received 500m or so from sixth Street and added 150m euros themselves. La liga rejected that calculation and now they are selling another chunk of barca studios to register players.

I’m reading in here from some posters that Barcelona are selling their future income to buy trophies now and that such a practice is perfectly reasonable. There’s no guarantee of that working and it is the kind of speculative hopeful business practice that sees businesses becoming insolvent. How the fuck uefa and La liga allow that, and how they allow wages to be deferred for years, and then let such a shambolic entity buy from other clubs on the drip, putting the income of those clubs at risk is surely exactly what FFP and affordability is supposed to be all about stopping?! And breathe, sorry that was a long sentence

I believe they’re hoping to see out the next 3-4 years with the hope that after then another super league option will appear to bail them out. They’re basically taking the ball into the corner to save time at the moment.
