Frenkie de Jong

If De jong said yes to joining us but Barca didn’t want money, they wanted Bernardo in a straight swap would you do it?

Some of the top European players might be put off by the Pep situation and it’s likely what the rivals are pitching to them to persuade them not to sign for us.

I can understand this point but also the growth of the club should appeal alone to most players. At some point we need to stop living in the cartel’s shadow. If players still don’t want to come then we are better off without them tbh.

Pep does have huge appeal but you could also say we have missed out on some big names while he has been with us. If anything, we buy just below world class and develop players, it’s the city way.

I am in now doubt getting a certain player would have been harder without pep and we did have to throw money about in the early days. He legitimised the whole project. Something Newcastle for example won’t have or any other teams that comes into money and that you can’t buy well unless he is getting paid by Mohammed the mystical figure from Abu Dhabi -:£

Nope. We can find a quality midfielder on the market but Bernardo is not an easy profile to find. If we get Frenkie as the midfielder signing however that would be absolutely unreal. Not at the cost of losing a key player. Because we’ll then have to find another winger on top of that too, market isn’t quite great for them.
