How many more years is it until we are able to ‘do a’ Juve, Bayern, Barca? By that I mean, just simply tap up the player mercilessly in the press and behind the scenes until we force the parent club into simply giving us the player for free or at a ridiculously below value rate.

He was actively courted by City and the club believed he was coming iirc . So I think he may well have seen the set-up.

Id expect Barca to still owe us the whole torres fee.
It just needs to be a same value transfer and no cash changes hands. They book the profit and lose his wages and we get the player.
