Fried bread shock. Advice needed.

I've lived with my wife for 22 years and today for the first time, I asked for fried bread with my breakfast. She made this for me, for which I really am greatful... BUT....SHE ONLY FRIED IT ON ONE SIDE! Obviously I threw it back in the pan and fried the other side. She said that's how she cooks fried bread, although very rarely. I just need to know is this a thing, have I been doing it wrong all my life or is she just weird?
Thick or thin sliced? Thick both sides thin 2 slices one side and then put together. Medium is the work of the devil and as such needs to be ignored.

I forgave the wife for shagging the whole local rugby team but fried bread on just one side?

My sympathies fella there are certain things no relationship can survive.

I know a single woman who runs a greasy spoon cafe if your interested.
