Fulham (A) | PL | Post-Match Thread

Was our passing bad because we were mentally tired after Bayern and Arsenal, or it was the pitch?!? I was at the Cottage and could see nothing discernably different with it, but almost everybody was bad at some point. I've never seen so many passes too short and intercepted by opposition. Habibi was the biggest disappointment for me, did literally nothing good, Kyle was also pretty bad with his passing. I am not sure why the opposition players are fouling Jack so much, it is not that he is doing some stupid dribbles, they've been just walloping him wherever he is on the ball. Today was the same.
I was very happy about the result, mentally we are drained, thank God we only only play this Wednesday! That Julian's screamer - those Argentinians really know how to smash the ball!
I really worry about Rodri, to say he's been overplayed is such an understatement. Gundo has been helping, but he looks out of it after 70th minute. This is how I think Pep sees Rodri and Kalvin right now.

Shame Philips can’t step in and give him a rest. I don’t blame pep for not trusting him when he comes on he looks miles off
Will he ever be trusted, at the start of next season we will still need to be a relentless winning machine that can't carry passengers, he needs to show us some of his England form to get Pep's trust

People blaming Jack need to give their head a wobble. Tete was a liability all afternoon and the ref did fuck all to protect Jack. I’d have been pissed off as well if I was him.
He is a professional footballer and needs to know how to restrain himself. When he reacts he gets booked, when he gets booked it provokes a reaction from the opposition fans and lifts their players. Last week he lost concentration when Arsenal scored he was still more interested in mixing it with Holding than helping out Akanji at that moment.
If he gets a harsh red card we're screwed.

The disrespect from some here towards Grealish, who's been an absolute warrior for this team since the WC. Absolute disgrace. Maybe he's sick to death of being kicked to shit all season with little to no protection from the refs. Hopefully now Phil's back, Jack can get some rest.

Pep said the grass was much too long which affected our passing. Too many ready to jump on the players with criticism without understanding the full circumstances.

I thought more than us being poor, it was a case of Fulham playing out of their skins to try and get something against the champions. If I was a Fulham fan, I'd be pissed off they didn't put in that amount of effort every week.

With our feet and decision making - 5 out of 10 (Alvarez moment aside)
With our hearts - 10 out of 10.

Matches you win with heart, not emotion and ability are impossibly difficult. So much respect for them, there was nothing in the tank.
