Fulham (H) - FA Cup Round 4 Post-Match Thread

Well said mate. Agree on all of that.

Port Vale last round was virtually a sell out wasn’t it??

Yep this month I have paid for Port Vale , utd and RM each match is 600 mile round trip or and midweek games a stay over . So today's match against Fulham didnt really interest me as they dont take many fans unlike Vale.

Plus paying for xmas !!

I miss Maine Road but we wouldn't be so good without the Etihad. It took vision to move and guaranteed the investment. I went to some flat games at Maine Road too down the years!
Yep, usually the numerous 4 0 home defeats to Liverpool, Arsenal etc over the decades

I thought this would be the game many Blues missed because of all the expense of lots of games in a short space of time.

Roberto Mancinis reputation in football management had long been established prior to taking over City, hence he managed to get the job in the first place. Furthermore he is now the manager of Italy which far exceeds managing City for prestige, particularly in his home country the place most likely to provide further work opportunities

It was a great touch by Mancini even if it seems easier for some to try and downplay it.
Hence why I said “helped” — he absolutely was not a legend in football management globally before coming to City. His reputation as a good manager was established, to be sure, but I don’t think any reasonable person would say he had the same level of prestige before City as he did after (for good reason, as his very real achievements with us set him apart).

I can’t say I would agree that managing the Italian national team now is more prestigious globally than what he did with City. At least, not until he wins the World Cup with them ( ;-) ). Though, I do agree it is more prestigious in Italy.

I am not sure if you think I am criticising Mancini, but that was definitely not my intention. I was only making the obvious point that he is unlikely to outright slag off the club that will help him from a reputation and financial standpoint for the remainder of his football-related career, unless the club does something horrible that really can’t be ignored or he creates a level of prestigious completely independent of his exploits with City (i.e. manage Italy to a World Cup win).

Professional job done and fair play to Fulham for trying to play football. Amazing what impact Pep has had on the game. Disappointed with the club over pricing of the game once BBC decided to show it. Should have been a tenner for adults everywhere and kids for a quid. Fulham were never going to bring many so atmosphere was always going to be a problem. Not only that but price of hot chocolate has increased from £2-£3 from last home game a 50% increase. Hope that’s not the sort of increase club is planning for SC for next season.

Now you can tell me I’m a sad old person but I came home, got something to eat and then sat down to watch the match all over again!! :-)

I just loved Micah’s contributions. He is the City ex-player/fan we needed to counteract the Murphy, Macmanaman cabal. Thank you Micah another City super fan. :-) At last.

The missus was fuming at the Palace game because the hot chocolate had gone to £3

The club want the day trippers/tourists as they spend more at games than lifelong fans do

I am deeply saddened to hear about the price of hot chocolate
