Fulham (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

I don’t think akanji was offside, the angle of the keeper and ake meant he could see everything + akanji wasn’t in the way of the dive.

Haaland has to be one of the best at hitting the ball. The third was a particularly well done

Horrible first half, very little good to say about it,and the ref was an absolute ****.

2nd half so much better.

Off side? id have been pissed off had we been on the receiving......but fuck em,how many decisions havent gone our way?

Some very encouraging cameo's from the subs.......and 3 amazing points.

Next!

Exactly, keeper saw it coming from far away and moved towards the ball .Akanji was not in front of him to block his view .

Tbf, the keeper had to take into account Akanji's positioning in his decision making, much like Ederson did with Rashford, so offside for me.

Tbf the other way, we were told then that affecting decision making wasn't a consideration, only physical interference, so if they are consistent, then not offside.

The law is fine, btw, but the way the law is implemented is stupid and needs to be changed. Everybody knows the goal was really off side, but I am not blaming any City fan still feeling the injustice of the Rashford incident and saying fuck them all.

It won't change the "conspiracy" argument either because that is largely emotion based and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I can go even further back than that, which may be a sign that at my age I don't watch football so much as the ghost of seasons past! Gomez will never be another David but then it's hard to believe anyone will! I must say Kovacic reminds me much of the time as a Peter Reid style player - always there to receive and never any fuss. Going back even further Bernado sometimes has more than a hint of Bobby Johnson, a player I idolised, though that may just be the pull of the past! I have to say noone reminds me of our striking Viking who is simply unrivallable. We old codgers have seen some players though. "Isn't it great to be a blue!"
I liken Kova to Alan Oakes or Gaz Baz. Always where he is needed, takes charge calmly and recycles the ball to our attackers. There is hope that Phillips comes good and can give Rodri a rest. Phillips plus Kova works for me.
With that double pivot and Foden in the middle we look ominously strong.
Plea to Pep: ffs, play Foden centrally at all times. Why did he not start there in this game? Stubborn old bald fraud.

No worries, it just winds me up when our fans give sympathy to the opponent on a debatable decision, when we never get any sympathy from anywhere.
You must have missed how many people said not giving Rashforf offside was a ridiculous decision, on the basis of its impact on Ederson's position.
