Fulham (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

No worries, it just winds me up when our fans give sympathy to the opponent on a debatable decision, when we never get any sympathy from anywhere.
I always like to think (rightly or wrongly) that we City fans are fair minded and recognise an error when we see one.

We were fucked over at Old Toilet, we were cheated in the FA Cup Final and we got away with one yesterday.

Howard Webb was brought in to sort things out and so far has failed miserably.

Has anyone yet cited the offside law?

The only bits re "interfering with play" that would make Akanji offside are these two, and it's really only the last one that is arguable.
  • clearly attempting to play a ball which is close when this action impacts on an opponent or
  • making an obvious action which clearly impacts on the ability of an opponent to play the ball

Ake wasn’t offside I can assure you of that, he headed the ball.

It was offside, let's be honest we would all be seething if they had scored that against us. But it didn't change the game, we would have beaten them in the second half regardless imo.

this shouldn't even be a debate, the precedent was set with the lord of fish fingers and his pet rat last season. If that's a goal, as it clearly was, check the history books, then Akes' was also a goal.....unless the laws of the game have changed again since last season? Have they? tell me they haven't ffs, I can't keep up :/

Off course it was offside, just like uniteds was last season. Though it should be pointed out but for Fulhams timewasting we would n’t still have been playing, so their own fault in the end.

Silvas full of shit, goal was legitamate Leno can see the flight of the ball nd know Akanji is off anyway if he touches it, not our fault he hesitated

Akanji’s position and actions meant the keeper delayed his dive in case Akanji re-directed the ball.
Leno knew Akanji was in an offside position as confirmed by his reaction in the aftermath.
If Akanji had redirected the ball the goal would have been disallowed which as a top level keeper Leno should know.
Akanji was not in Leno's line of sight and tried to get out of the way.
Had Leno dived earlier he might have saved the header.
