Teams will use whatever tactics they see best to get a result against us. Fulham were defensively solid, & it was an evident tactic to use the speed of Traore & Iwobi to hit us on the break.

However, their players are technically good & Marco Silva came with a solid plan. They came to play football & gave us a proper game. Better finishing from them (notwithstanding a brilliant display from Ederson) & they might have left the Etihad with something.

Albeit we deserved the win, the game was too close for comfort, especially the last 20 minutes where we scored what turned out to be the winner, against the run of play.

Credit to Fulham & a warning to City that we may still be considered the best, but the rest are catching up to us. We need a big squad refresh to put clear Sky Blue water between us & the chasing pack once again.

We were fortunate in that Traore's only skill was his pace. His finishing was quite dreadful, but it was a game that could have been wrestled from us!

He's scored against us previously, but yes, a combination of good goal keeping & a lack of clinical finishing, saved us from being 3 down by the time they scored the opener.

I've just read Pep's post match presser, & he acknowledges there's improvements to be made, which he'll be analysing & trying to find a solution for during the international break.

Pep seems to relish the chess game side of football. It'll be interesting to see what he conjours up over the course of the season.
