Would have preferred to see Savinho on the wing with Bernardo next to Kovacic and Gundogan on the bench to be honest. We just look a bit more dynamic that way.

I like that team. I only worry about our physicality in the middle. Phil obviously could be better off the ball, and Gundo and Kovacic aren't superb in that department either. Gvardiol vs Adama should be a fun one to watch. Lewis vs Iwobi on the other side as well. 3-1 City. Foden with one, and Haaland a brace.

Lewis can look after himself no problem.

Doku, Savinho, and Bobb have pace, albeit different sorts of pace. Bobb is very fast/quick on the ball, Savinho over longer distances, and Doku in shorter distances.

Haaland, Akanji, and Walker are no slouches, either.

But we rarely get space to attack in to against parked double decker buses, so having pacy players isn’t normally much of an advantage aside from defending the inevitable counter (or five) we see every game. Or in the two or three games a campaign the we play Liverpool.

What we need, as you allude to, are players like Doku, Savinho, Bobb, Lewis, Gundogan, and—when he isn’t taking an age to decide what to do with the ball—Grealish, who are very quick over short distances, can play cutting/clever passes, and/or create havoc in the opposition box (a quality Doku has in spades that is woefully underrated by many on here), where we spend most of our time.

thats where their threat will come from...Gvardiol pushing up so high ....if we lose the ball the first thing Fulham will do is push it into the space behind Gvardiol for Traore to run into.

we are fluid but not to that extent....

Id prefer Bernardo more central...when he went there the other game vs newcastle we were so much better. Foden isnt great outwide but you could play him on the left, drop grealish and play Savihno on the right.......that would be my choice.

Bernardo needs to step up today. Think he’s been poor on the right for quite some time now

he was our best player when he was moved more central vs Newcastle...he owned Joe Linton once he was put in the middle..... He is wasted outwide
