Fulham League Cup - Post Match Thread

Has anyone mentioned that Zinchenko was class tonight. Some great crosses and very good on the ball.
Not read whole thread, but the lad deserves a lot of credit, could see him growing into the game, as I always do, very, very intelligent player. I really understand what Pep means when he mentions how unfair it is that some guys, who deserve to, don't get picked. Oleksandr Zinchenko certainly falls into that category imo.

Comfy, shame about Kev easy to say now but I thought 80 mins would have done for him tonight.

Diaz is certainly ready to be an impact player.
He'll be more of that for Real Madrid next season unless he gets a lot more games or City make him an offer he can't refuse. Or both.

Straightforward win tonight and a great run-out for those who didn’t play on Monday, Big John excepted, of course.

The whole team played well, but special mention to Foden, KdB, Sané and Delph, playing in an unfamiliar midfield rôle.

It was great for Brahim to score his first goals for City. Aro had very little to do, but never looked out of place in the side, and Oleks put in another good performance at left-back.

Took the wife and my kids to the game tonight - the wifes first game at the Etihad, my middle kids second game (after wolves last year) and my 5 year olds first game. Pleasantly surprised by the lack of adult words being shouted around me although I had to laugh when the guy sat behind me seemed to suddenly notice that Zinco and KDB look alike. I thought Sane was decent - his ability to change pace suddenly is astounding but it was one of those games for him and Gabi where the ball just doesn't fall right. I was in the corner that Sane was attacking in the second half and seeing him that close is a treat. He doesn't chase the lost causes though which was causing a guy at the bank of the stand to constantly shout and call him lazy.

Diaz took his goals well but thought he was the least effective attacker tonight - he had a bunch of space in his area of the pitch and I found myself wishing he'd take a powerful run inside his fullback and really drive into the box. I like the way he battles in the small spaces and his running into space without the ball was good but I wanted to see him attacking the spaces more when he had the ball.

Gabi is looking more like the exciting skilful player we saw when he first arrived and thought he was pretty unlucky not to score. KDB wins the ball back so often - the way he makes up ground on a player receiving the ball and nicks it back from their blind side is remarkable and for which he receives little credit because his offensive skills are so obvious.

Standout player for me though was Foden. He is just quality - finds space so well, can pass, can dribble, can get a foot stuck in. He looks born to play in this City team and seems so comfortable. In my mind he's the perfect combination of David Silva and Frank Lampard. He's such an exciting talent

Have you got blue tinted specs with tape obscuring your focus? I didn't go tonight but I watched a stream and there were plenty of gaps in both first and second tiers. Sorry Marvin, but I have to say it how I see it blue.
Well watch the Sky highlights. I was there. You obviously weren't. Bottom two tiers were packed. The odd space eg the Fulham end, and spaces open up before and after halftime but if you watch from 15-35 mins you get the idea.

We know KDB is class, so for me the most impressive display tonight was from Jesus. Things not falling his way, but he's working so hard and showed a lot of skill tonight.

Erm, I saw the full game, plenty of empty seats in view Marvin. I won't sugar coat the attendance like you are trying to do. Gaps all over.

I love people who didn’t go but have an opinion about those who did

Crack on mate what did we miss on TV?

But did the Mrs and the kids enjoy themselves?
