The way some cockwombles go straight after the manager is shameful.

I guess its the players that take the credit when we won the FA Cup and finished joint second last season and it was in spite of our manager?

Simply put, the manager didn't lose us the game, the whole team did.

You seriously think that the Silva sub was in any way a good move then? Yes Mancini did well to get the F.A cup and 3rd in the league (not joint second though as you claimed) but this doesn't mean he is infallible.

You seriously think the Silva sub cost us 2 points? I'm guessing from a few things that you're the guy from the poker thread again... so you should know already there is a faction here that will not give Mancini any credit when we win, but are on here foaming at the mouth the second they can get their claws into him. Noone is saying Mancini is infalible, but its nonsense after last season and the start to this, that we're blaming the manager the first game we drop points.

BTW we did finish joint second, look at the points, but you can't have the same pay money for 2 teams, so GD says we get less than Chelsea.

I think the Silva sub meant when it went to 2-2 we had a significantly less chance of getting back into the lead in the game. Obviously nobody can say with certainty whether it cost us the points or not. I don't think Mancini had a good enough plan if we did end up conceding. I'm not slating Mancini and say he should be sacked. I'm saying that Mourinho is a better manager. That has always been the case even when we were 5-1 up at Spurs, lifting the F.A cup and beating United in the Semi. This loss hasn't changed the fact the Mourinho has always been the better manager and I only brought it up in response to another poster asking who is a better maanger than Mourinho.

We didn't finish joint second. We finished level on points which is not the same thing. Over the course of the seaosn Chelsea finished one place above us in accordance to the pre-determined rules.

haha brilliant

We need Nige desperatly, we looked sloppy and over confident in the second half and obviously Fulham's second goal should not have counted as that tackle on Edin deserved at least a yellow but what can you expect from Twattenberg, I think we looked a lot better when AJ came on and we should use him more often
And also what on earth was Robbie thinking taking David off for Zaba

This thread...LOL. I know it's just a few people but those few are nuts.

I am off to watch NFL, and see the overreaction there. More lulz

Having gone 2-0 up we should be seeing it out. I'm not going to get all daft and say silly things like Mancini out! Just frustrated that we didn't kill the game. Does feel like a defeat though.

Still, we will defo be in the mix at the end of the season. Let's put this into perspective. We could be Arsenal!

Our 2 central defenders are nowhere near what they need to be in order to mount a title challenge. Also very worrying the way we have recently surrendered 2 2-0 leads against United and now Fulham.

People saying its Mancini's fault are wrong. At 2-1 we were getting over-run in midfield and Fulham stepped it up, so he brought on our only midfield option on the bench, in Zabaleta to sure it up. In order to do this he needed to take off 1 of the front 4. Dzeko is the only tall forward so he is needed to win headers/hold up, Aguero has already scored 2 goals in the game, so that leaves Nasri and Silva. Silva had played 90 minutes mid-week so is more likely to be tired than Nasri. Its a logical substitution.

The only thing I didn't understand is that at 2-2 he brought on Tevez for Aguero. Wrong move in my opinion, he should have brought on Balotelli for Toure and really gone for it with pace out wide.

If we had signed Phil Jones in the summer then we would have a miles better chance at winnning this league. United look like they're going to absolutely piss it.

I don't think anyone is complaining about the draw, more about the way it happened.

We were 2-0 and CRUISING. As Bobby says "we must learn how to control the game" from that position.

We brought everything upon ourselves today, and Mancini made some bad choices imo.

We can't win every game, but we should win every game if given a 2 goal head start with half an hour or so to play!

Lack of central midfield options key

Yaya Toure and Gareth Barry being the only fit central midfielders was the key reason for today's draw with fulham, and not Mancini's substitutions.

With Nigel De Jong and James Milner injured, and Hargreaves not yet up to speed, this highlights Mancini's disappointment at being unable to sign another central midfielder. (Be it the board, or more realistically, the stupid FFP regulations)

Scott Parker was apparently on the radar, would he have done a job today in place of a knackered Yaya Toure? You would think so. Gareth Barry was also tired, and took a knock at 2-1, given he has only just returned from injury and probably isn't playing at 100%.

This left a lack of solid cover for our defence, and we know what happens when we don't cover our defence, with Kompany still with slight things to learn being young at 25, and Lescott sluggish and suspect.

Perhaps we are a quality central defender and a little depth in midfield short of the title.

But the fundamental reason for our sluggish 2nd half was the centre of midfield, where Fulham worked both of their goals from.

today bobby fucked up and cost us 2 points hopefully it wont happen again and we learn from it ,
this sounds daft but i think we scored to early in the second half and thought the game was won, dissapointed but lets move on i hope he puts quite a strong team out agains birmingham
