Fulham v City Post Match Discussion Thread

Some people need to understand although Fulham have had a bad start to the season they are no mugs!

We were on their patch and let a two goal lead slip but they played some really good stuff and their fans got behind them. It could of happened to any team.

We thought the job was done but Fulham had something to say about that, credit to them they played well and they needed to after their start to the season.

Onwards and upwards lets catch the rags up!

I agree mate. Fulham are a decent side and will not be down there come the end of the season.

Watched the first half on the internet and thought we were brilliant. Had to go to a family function so missed the second half but heard we were two nil up before getting out of the car. I've read some of the comments on here and agree that the problem is character. Regardless of substitutions we should not be giving two goals away. There was a class difference between City and Fulham and the only way Fulham could have made that gulf up was by out battling us. We seem to have developed an habit of playing for 60 minutes and then downing tools. How many goals have we scored in the last 15 minutes over the last couple seasons? We finish weakly and the opposition strongly. Whether this is fitness or attitude I'm not sure but apparently there are stats out there that tell which players are putting it in at the end of a match. Those stats should be utilised. Having superior ability only counts if you match the opposition work rate. On the positive side 13 pts from 3 aways and 2 homes is excellent but we need to toughen up and become more ruthless fom on top.

At least we'll learn from it.
The fun-loving, liberal optimist in me agrees with this. And best that it happened so early in the season, so we have time to right the mistakes. The ever-simmering City pessimist in me, however, wonders why we didn't learn from this type of thing last season!

Still, put it behind us and move on, eh?

Is it me or was the obvious decision after 60 minutes to bring Tevez on for Nasri?

We couldn't really argue at the outcome ... Fulham reacted to our second goal better than we did , and we have to learn from this game.

But one thing remains abundantly clear ..... if , at the end of the day , we WANT to win titles , then we have to WANT to win games like this MORE than the likes of Fulham do ....... it's the extra points gained at places such as Craven Cottage that ultimately brings you those titles!
