He looked proper unimpressed and showed his distaste. I for one would not expect that from a man like him. To me it was as if he was saying ' Im the best player on your team, and in this league right now, what are you doing taking me off?'
For Spain he is a floater, as in he comes in and out of the team according to opposition and tournament/match. He may not be a guaranteed starter until Xavi retires and even then Cesc would be in front of him.
For us, he is arguably the 2nd name on the teamsheet (Hart would be my first), and in a match like that where things aren't going so well I for one wouldn't take him off. He is our best player, our attacking leader, and all things good go through him. We all know this.
Im not saying David Silva is immune to substitutions, because nobody is and that would be absurd to suggest. I do feel that it was a ridiculous substitution and instead of taking him off, I would have pulled Dzeko or Aguero off and gone with a 4 - 5 - 1 if he wanted another body in midfield. Zaba on for Dzeko/Aguero leaving the other up top alone. Tevez on for Nasri, have him in front of the 4 mids and behind Dzeko/Aguero and just floating deep like he did last year.
Mancini got it well and truly wrong today.
Seasons young and we have started brilliantly.
Just wanted to see what people though about the Silva substitution today.
Rotate for Brum, resting Silva, Aguero, Dzeko, Vinnie, maybe give Pantillon match.....bring on Everton for a smashing!

At least it shows Silva's desire to play.whothefisAlice said:pudge said:whothefisAlice said:What do we make of his substitution?

Overreaction? What you on about. If anyone overreacted it was Silva. Not sure if you were there, or watched it at all, but he was proper ticked off and unamused at coming off, and that was exactly how I read his body language so bog off mate.
