Fulham v City Post Match Discussion Thread

Has anyone else noticed that during the pre-game warm ups, Dzeko asked the assistant coach for a pill. Not sure if he was feeling ill or if some sort of an injury was in question..

What do we make of his substitution?

He looked proper unimpressed and showed his distaste. I for one would not expect that from a man like him. To me it was as if he was saying ' Im the best player on your team, and in this league right now, what are you doing taking me off?'

For Spain he is a floater, as in he comes in and out of the team according to opposition and tournament/match. He may not be a guaranteed starter until Xavi retires and even then Cesc would be in front of him.
For us, he is arguably the 2nd name on the teamsheet (Hart would be my first), and in a match like that where things aren't going so well I for one wouldn't take him off. He is our best player, our attacking leader, and all things good go through him. We all know this.

Im not saying David Silva is immune to substitutions, because nobody is and that would be absurd to suggest. I do feel that it was a ridiculous substitution and instead of taking him off, I would have pulled Dzeko or Aguero off and gone with a 4 - 5 - 1 if he wanted another body in midfield. Zaba on for Dzeko/Aguero leaving the other up top alone. Tevez on for Nasri, have him in front of the 4 mids and behind Dzeko/Aguero and just floating deep like he did last year.

Mancini got it well and truly wrong today.

Seasons young and we have started brilliantly.
Just wanted to see what people though about the Silva substitution today.
Rotate for Brum, resting Silva, Aguero, Dzeko, Vinnie, maybe give Pantillon match.....bring on Everton for a smashing!

Overreaction? What you on about. If anyone overreacted it was Silva. Not sure if you were there, or watched it at all, but he was proper ticked off and unamused at coming off, and that was exactly how I read his body language so bog off mate.

all is not lost, we have put more daylight between us and chelsea, arsenal and scouse, plus when we beat the rags at their place we go a point clear.

At least it shows Silva's desire to play.

At least we'll learn from it.

i said exactly the same thing today

we need not get complacent, which i think we may have got today

after 2 goals we were in cruise mode, and i thought the fulham goal would have jump started us, but it didn't.

Some comments on here make me wonder, real Madrid lost so fucking what, how is that in any way shape or form our fucking concern, then fulham are no mugs ? They are fucking shit and 3 points out of 5 games proves that any team with title hopes does not lose a 2 goal lead against fulham thanks to us today they have doubled there seasons goal tally , fulham are shit end of we made them look good because we were shit second half

This was a game we should have had Tevez and Ageuro up front together, their speed and control would have been too much for the slower Hangeland and Baird who can compete physically with Dzeko.
Im also noticing we are leaving a lot more space in front of the back four which I think is the cause of nearly all the goals we have conceded this season if we do this against the rags and chelsea we wont beat them
Irritated we didnt close it out for the win but I thought they looked a lot fitter than us which maybe is because they have played 14 games already this season.
Anyway I think we will beat Everton for a change next week and get back on track

somebodys dreaming we,re gonna get summat at OT
sorry to say theyre on fire at the mo ,unless they suffer injuries or a serious loss of form our bobby wont have a clue
