Very important game mentally today
Really looking forward to today's game, and I think it's a very important one mentally for the squad. It's a tough away game at a crucial time. One, because weve got this 100% record, two because we've had a hard game midweek and three because the performance level was down a bit in the champions league. We go into a period now of playing twice a week and I'm really interested in how the squad react to
That. Last season this happened in winter and we wilted a bit. This season we are certainly stronger.
I expect little rotation today, I expect a full strength team- same as napoli but with the first choice full backs. Get the game won early if we can. Then we can play the reserves on Wednesday . But it's going to be intriguing to see the managers take on this-will he think he can rotate players like tevez and balotelli in and still win tough premier league aways? Or will he rely on the big guns to deliver twice in a week?
I feel today will give us a big signpost as to how the rest of the season progresses. These post champions
League games-all away- are a huge test and I feel to a squad with growing confidence and belief this first one is extremely important mentally. A defeat today , whilst obviously not the end of the world, will introduce doubts into the players minds.
I can't wait and I think we'll have far too much for fulham. They're all big games of course when you're a title challenger. But I sense real significance in today's result.
