Dzeko and Kun out there today, along with Richards and Clichy. Fulham are bottom, and if they take anything from us, it won't just play on our minds, but on the minds of our future opponents. It tells them that any team can take points of us, we need to keep teams believing that nothing can stop us. A win necessary today.
A win today, after our first CL game, could see us march onwards with a real determined aura.

I think the team we played against Napoli was our 1st choice at the time. Maybe De Jong and Micah would have come in if fully fit. I am not sure if Micah is fit or not. He's so committed he seems to pick up a knock every game.For me Kolarov is a far better left back than Clichy. Clichy is a left midfielder who needs some defensive coaching from Mancini. he stands way off his man. I think that's why Kolarov played against Napoli. Mancini knew they'd be very strong on the counter-attack, and Kolarov knows Italian football
You have to think of the long term - not just one game, so it's time for tevez to start. He has had substitute appearances. Balotelli might need more game time before being plunged into the starting line up, but this is the point. if we don't play get players up to match speed then they will be no use if we suddenly need them.Rammy Blue said:One hell of a selection poser for Bob today.
Although I see where Marvin is coming from, with regards Carlos and Balo, I expect Bob to go with first choice eleven with Clichy and Micah in - try and get the game won in an hour and then make changes. Tiredness certainly shouldn't be an issue at this time of the season so no rotation required yet.
Problem though will be how Carlos and Balo react to being Carling Cup players, we will need them when we get injuries so I hope they stay focused as neither is the most level headed of people....

Very important game mentally today
I'd be disappointed, and a little surprised, if tevez started . It was apparent again on weds how his game hampers us. Sorry to keep labouring this point but our lightening quick pass and move breaks do not happen with him in the team. He holds it up too much, takes too much time on the ball. And he doesn't look fit. The fab four should all start today and get the game won quick. Theyll capitulate if we go a goal or two up. Come out the blocks flying and then take the likes of silva off. We need him fresh more than any other.
One thing I have learnt is you can never second guess mancini's selection decisions in advance. The only thing predictable is that he continually surprises.

i'm gutted, i am missing this one and will be picking jess up from the airport at 2-30, thinking i'll make a pub at 3, the other girl is off back to london at 5 15 from picc so i had it all worked out that i see the game somewhere between sorting the kids out. jess just texted to say plane delayed, big mistake on my part, should have gone and let the wife sort the fucking kids out.

ps agree with OP - a key game mentally for the club. Performance more so than result imho
