Imo Maffeo and Angelino need to stay with the squad and gain gametime whenever possible. With Pep using this year to gear them up for next year. Whatever that means to either Clichy/Kolarov, or Zab/Sagna short term or long term. It would still explain why Pep isn't that interested in bringing in new full backs.

Kolarov is dangerous going forward, but his over-reliance on his left foot will disrupt fluency in our play.

As much as I would have been happy to ship out half the squad for much needed fresh blood, we have to be realistic about how much upheaval any team can suffer in a single window. I imagine by this time next summer the team will look almost completely different, save for a handful of faces.

Good point, I reckon by the start of next season we will potentially have a new GK, 1 more CB, 2 new FBs and a new CM. Add that to Stones, Gundogan, Sané, Jesus, Moreno, the possible promotion of Maffeo, Angelino, the Garcias and the squad has a totally new look.

Before the transfer madness kicked in I'd have said we needed a left back, right back, centre back and centre mid as a priorrrrity .... we seem to be obsessed with stock-piling the best attacking/creative talent. I don't think it's Peps mentality to say we'll settle for top 4 this season but it certainly looks like we're looking a season ahead

I think looking at both Maffeo and Angelino, they are pretty much ready.

Don't need to go blowing money on new full backs for a good while yet.
