Spoons in The Printworks is epic value, loads of Breakfast choice and really decent...for early kick off games, it's fucking rammed. Is Wetherspoon's still a shout? Or any other recommendations? I'm over for the Newcastle game, and will be getting into the city centre around 9 that morning.
Didn't know they had a place in the Printworks, only knew about the Piccadilly one. Thanks for that.Spoons in The Printworks is epic value, loads of Breakfast choice and really decent...for early kick off games, it's fucking rammed.
I disagree. They used to do a decent breakfast but nowadays the bacon is like wafer thin ham and often fatty and undercooked. And the Cumberland sausages aren't as good a quality as they used to be. A good quality sausage defines a good English brekkie, IMO. Wethers ain't cheap and good value anymore, and often I've been served food luke warm.As much as a really hate Wetherspoons, they do actually do a decent breakfast.
A more independent option near-ish Piccadilly is Koffee Pot on Oldham St or Trof on Thomas St, both in the NQ.

heads up. There's about 5 Wetherspoons in town. I manage to avoid all of 'em.Didn't know they had a place in the Printworks, only knew about the Piccadilly one. Thanks for that.
They used to be hearty cheap and enjoyable and a cuppa was included in the price. I don't mind paying a bit more for good quality food but Wetherspoons has cheapened their quality and increased prices so I only eat breakfast in them for hunger and convenience nowadays.I haven’t been in one for a couple of years to be fair.
I was surprised at how decent the brekkie was last time I went in one. Not surprised they’ve cheapened out though.
And I agree 100% on the importance of sausages!
