To be fair, Thiago Silva is a proven world class defender both internationally and in CL. Kompany will have his time, but currently he lack experience to be that high.

Ibrahimovic is the best, or 2nd best striker in Italy and deserve that high. He's very allround which probably gives him a higher total. Tevez lack a bit in the air for example and isn't as strong as Ibrahimovic.

He didn't even participate in half of the league matches last year, and wasn't that good in the first ones. You don't remember the "Richards out! Lazy! Doesn't track back!" threads before Christmas? He was too inconsistent last season, but ended it very good. The ratings aren't based on the last two months of the season though.

He's world class and deeply underrated in England IMO. Heading is a huge part of being a striker, just like it's for a defender.

I know them ratings are unbelievable, not saying they dont deserve it but people are going to rape being Barca online.

People who played it yesterday on the show floor said Real Madrid's ratings are unbelievable and that everyone will play them online, but I haven't seen them yet.

Remember that all players are rated both offensively and defensively. Richards crossing is shocking (but it's getting better), he's not the most technically gifted player either. He had very good defensive ratings in Fifa 11 (tackling, heading, marking). Look at Dani Alves - he has 87, and is very very gifted offensively. It's very obvious offense has a major impact on total rating.

Kompany at 84 is very good, Lescott deserve 82 in my book and not 80. He still got higher than Fifa 11 though. Kolarov just wasn't good last season, we all here know that.

Remember that Kolo played 70% of last season and isn't shown on these ratings. Let's say he has 82 or 83, that'll offer a pretty good defense with him in.

Same thing here, players are rated offense and defense. De Jong is very one-dimensional, we all know that. He's world class defensively but rarely participate offensively. He'll still be world class defensively if you play him as DM in Fifa 12, even though his total rating is 82.

Song, on the other hand, participate both offensively and defensively. He won't be as good as De Jong defensively, but he'll outshine him offensively. Just like IRL.
