Somebody tell me how Richards has gone down a rating

He didn't even participate in half of the league matches last year, and wasn't that good in the first ones. You don't remember the "Richards out! Lazy! Doesn't track back!" threads before Christmas? He was too inconsistent last season, but ended it very good. The ratings aren't based on the last two months of the season though.

To be fair, Thiago Silva is a proven world class defender both internationally and in CL. Kompany will have his time, but currently he lack experience to be that high.

Ibrahimovic is the best, or 2nd best striker in Italy and deserve that high. He's very allround which probably gives him a higher total. Tevez lack a bit in the air for example and isn't as strong as Ibrahimovic.

The thiago one I can kind of see where your coming from but I refuse to believe that Ibrahimovic is better than Tevez or deserves to be better on Fifa. He is slow and lazy and apart from his obvious aerial advantage, Tevez shits on him.

Sorry, for a specfic type of striker heading is important but for the Trequartista style which Messi, Tevez, Rooney etc play its not the be all and end all.

Exactly, that's why Tevez will excel in a Trequartista? Just because his total is lower doesn't mean he's shit in everything. Just like Ibra don't have the stats for a Trequartista. While Ibrahimovic is fantastic as a lone striker with wings who whip them in, Tevez won't be able to excel in that setup as good. Ibrahimovic has world class finishing, world class technique, great heading and great mental abilities. Look at the trophies he's got, he carries teams on his own and is a great leader with tons of experience.

Plus, Messi is good in the air despite his length and has scored header goals. Look at the CL final against the scum. He's the world's best player, of course he should have much higher than the rest.

The last 5 seasons he has won 5 league titles with 3 different teams and in the last 5 years he has consistently had a better than 1 in 2 goal ratio. At Inter he had a better than 2 in 3 goal ratio which is better than Tevez has had with us. The reason he is rated highly is because he is proven class. Just because he doesn't play in England doesn't mean he deserves a crap rating.

Well said. Ibrahimovic also puts up a lot of assists, he's great at playmaking for a striker.

Having players with the highest ratings in each position does not make the best team as it is important to look at the stats themselves. If your saw the indevidual stats it would make a lot more sense.

Dunno why people are bothered about the stats for?

De Jong might be overall 82, if you placed him as a striker his stats would go down to say 52, but in DMC playing for City his overall might go up to 86,
Whereas Song in the same position playing for City might be 76.

De Jong in DMC for Arsenal might be 78.

its relevant to the specific position and also the team chemistry which defines how affective the player is.

I'm sorry but vinny is the second best in the premier league behind vidic if not as good as and the english league is far better than the italian. I'm not saying thiago is crap but vinny should be on par.

Just a bit of info regarding ratings.

The overall Ratings for FIFA 12 are derived differently from last season (FIFA 11).

Although the actual method for calculating the original rating is still from a mix of about 50 attributes and 20 traits, the formula and weightings for each attribute are applied differently which means certain players might have a slightly lower or higher rating than last season but actually be better or worse than before in the game...
