I’ve seen the big screen they did in LA and it’s almost like been there view wise but listening into podcasts about VR there’s the very real possibility of been able to buy a virtual seat with the best view in the stadium I can see that taking off hugely with the price of VR coming down. I know as I get older and the thought of sitting amongst a lot of day trippers it seems more appealing

Looks absolutely class doesn’t it. Bet it isn’t cheap though.

There isn't a mass market for commercial domestic VR, especially when it comes to movies and TV. It's been affordable for ages, and it's settled into what it's likely to always be: a niche secondary technology primarily for gamers. Most people just don't want to sit with a computer strapped to their face.

Quite right.

Wake me up when it's transmitted wirelessly to receptors attached to the brain.

Or, actually, don't .......

Not yet there Gaby but with the new Meta ones and Apple Vision Pro prices will drop and apparently using those is an amazing. I heard the new swamp is actively looking at installing cameras around the ground so you could buy a virtual season ticket for a particular seat!

But I don't think price is what is holding back mass adoption. It's been affordable, as affordable as 4k TVs, for a decade.

I also think from the football perspective a fixed view that requires you to sit with a bit of tech strapped to your face and which you need to move your head to follow the game, but that is removed from the atmosphere of the stadium while also being removed from your immediate surroundings, is a terrible way to watch a game. It's the sort of thing that looks good in a tech demo for five minutes, but not something you do three times a week.

We'll see though.

Mate these daytrippers watch the game through their phones as they film it! Might not be for us dinosaurs but the yoof of today are completely different, they would sit in the sofa with these on together

If that's the future of football (and probably the future of life in general) I want out.

Sure it will come, a 180 view of everything (360 for united fans) where you can watch the crowd etc at time as you do on a matchday would be good.

When Im pissing my pants in a care home Im sure it will be a very welcome break in the day.
