I don't think anyone is trying to turn it into a Kelechi vs Jesus thing. Both players are exceptional young talents with incredible stats. More importantly however and what those stats don't show is their great attitude to playing football and the shift they both put in on the pitch.
I think the hype has been equal and quite rightly so. Nacho had it last season when we were crying out for him to start games and Jesus is getting it this season as just a few months ago he was relatively unheard of, particularly in Europe. The pattern of hype is even following their ages, Iheanacho is now 20 and trusted to do a job for us and Jesus is 19 (20 in April) and yet to play a game for us but is leading the line for Brazil which is phenomenal.
One thing I will say is what a signing/bargain this has turned out to be, we signed him for £25m and since then he's won Olympic gold, Brazil's top goalscorer in world cup qualifying, still top goalscorer in the Brazilian league and Palmeiras are still top. Wonder what he's worth right now...
I was responding to Ed68 who worried about where that puts Kelechi. Its obvious to me that Guardiola needs to find space for both Jesus and Iheanacho. Its not about placing one over the other. I do think however that time is running out for players like Navas and Nolito also may find playing time hard to come by. Don't forget there is also Leroy Sane.
Aguero has still a minimum of 3 years of prime football and both Kelechi and Jesus will want to start regularly way before that. If Pep doesn't accomodate both he will lose one, Kelechi being the more likely as no money was spent on buying him.
As for hype: Iheanacho is worth 7 mln on Transfermarkt, Jesus 16 mln. Those numbers are directly correlated to hype.
