He's more effective than Aguero on current form. As much as I love Aguero he's not had a really good game since the crash, and only scored one in open play in that period, which was when it broke to him in space on the counter against Napoli. Jesus seems far better in the tight spaces right now.
I dont think is a problem GJ as a supersub at this point of his career at all.
We need remember hes almost a decade younger than Aguero..
I said in many City forums before we signed him, GJ is not a winger, hes a 9.
As a winger he will not develop in the same level of Sane/Sterling, but as a CF he will be in the highest elite in few years.
I trust Pep 100% to develop the player.
I would think that by and large all the players are kept very much in the picture as to where they figure in Peps plans for the season. I am equally sure that most in the squad are being told they will get plenty of football between now and the end of the season.
Everything has gone swimmingly well so far apart from a couple of injuries. Well there will be more injuries, and suspensions, and fatigue will become an issue should we progress in the cup competitions. There is a very long winter and spring ahead. For the journey to end as we hope it really is likely to involve all of the squad and all of the squad to play well when required.
Games like tonight will do him good. I think he's been spoilt by playing for two really strong club sides and a really strong international side. Being in the weaker team for once might teach him a thing or two about taking the initiative.
This is his first extended run with us whilst fit. He's blowing a bit hot and cold during games. Sometimes he can be bullied off the ball a bit too easily and cheap with possession. But then 10 minutes later he's winning every 50/50 and his link up play is diamond. And then 10 minutes later he's back to the former. And 10 minutes later..
I suppose this is called being a 20 year old striker. The most important thing is that the effort's there and nobody can doubt that with Jesus.
His movement is outstanding all the time though. That's one thing that'll guarantee him goals regardless of his performances.
Works hard but I am getting a bit fed up with his little flicks would rather he just shot on sight than trying to put it on a plate for someone. That chance in the first half when he was basicaly unmarked in the 6 yard box and back heeled it to no one!
