Gabriel Jesus joins Arsenal

How mad is it that our two squad players, that, let's be honest, very few fans were clamouring to be starting ahead of our current first 11, instantly and without question improve Arsenal. What a time to be a blue.
? Forgive me for not celebrating improving Arsenal. Terrible transfer policy.

Couldn't understand how Mahrez got the spot instead of Jesus.
Mahrez was top scorer last season but I would have seen Sterling and him go before Jesus.

Jesus was always quick to be dropped when he had an average game. Certainly more than the others. Not sure why.

A couple of years back he had the 3rd best numbers ever for an attacking player in the Premier league era.

No idea what it was before he left. He didn't get enough minutes for me.

Loved the effort the lad put in but it can’t only be me remembering that when Sergio went and he had the opportunity to make that spot his and he decided he wanted to play on the right?

Will be interesting to see if the press are still comparing him the Messi when he is up against the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool etc.

Never wanted to Jesus leave.

Also thought he deserved more game time. Pep is a strange bloke at times and unless you are Messi (or now Haaland) he seems to have it in for strikers. I mean he dropped Sergio to start with FFS. Jesus was fantastic for us IMO - great work ethic, terrific skills and ball retention and also knew where the goal was. I'd have never sold him personally.

We now get to see just how good he is.... playing for Arsenal FFS. And no, it's not a flash in the pan. He'll be brilliant for them all season. I'm delighted for him personally, but disappointed he's not still ours.

Yep

Yep, one of the reasons we went to a false nine was because of his inconsistency and regular bouts of mental flakiness.
He had plenty of opportunities to succeed Sergio but he couldn’t be relied on over a season and lets face it, instead of stepping up he effectively went hiding from responsibility when he decided he wanted to be a winger instead of a striker.
Good player when things are going his way but lets see where he and Arsenal are in May.
Predicted a while ago that he and Sterling would start well and some people on here would lose their minds, before normal service is resumed later in the season. And I still stand by that

My son was in Rio for the Olympics in 2016 and all the talk from the football fans over there was that Jesus was going to be one of their all time greats. He started well with City but then suffered a couple of injuries that kept him out for a time and I didn't think he was quite the same when he came back. Pep often didn't want to play with two strikers and how do you take Aguero's place (in fact, Haaland will have to go some to equal Sergio's record). I know he is a very different player but had we not signed Grealish maybe he would have started more games and would have had no desire to leave. As it is we now have Alvarez but with Jesus being much more experienced I would have been trying my best to keep him.

Good player playing well. I’m shocked I tell you, shocked.
Would have preferred to keep him but I’m excited to see our new, refreshed forward line put any thoughts of missing him to bed.

I said as much in another thread the other week. Last season we had 3 players fighting for the right wing berth and IMO we kept the worst (and oldest) of the 3. I think if we had spent more time relying on Gabby, he would have shown that he was more than good enough to be a regular in our side. Unfortunately, it was like he wasn’t allowed to have a bad game, never mind bad form.

The worst was the only one that wanted to stay.

Oh let’s have an interview with Jesus and go over his time at city again to indirectly have a go at pep and man city!

Why not talk about Arsenal and Arteta see how he has settled in there and how he love being the main man striker?!

How do we feel Arsenal will manage with their PL title challenge, with him potentiaily being out of the team for 3 months?
