Gabriel Jesus return from injury

Stats are stats. I can’t remember a game where he’s took it by the scruff of the neck, especially the so-called ‘big’ games.

Can you name any other 20 year olds in Premier League taking "big games by the scruff of the neck"? His game is clearly still developing, but if you are unable to see the obvious talent there then fair enough. I find it very odd the way some of our fans seem so keen to prematurely write off players.

Pep recently said four - five weeks so there's a chance he could be on the bench for the cup final. If not, maybe they'll target the return leg of the champs league game

Jesus. Just don’t see the hype with him atm, I know he’s young but for me in my opinion he hasn’t shown that Brazilian flair I expected him too, I know he’s had two tough injuries since he’s been here and I hope he does come good but atm I’m not seeing anything.

Ask Ronaldo & Ronaldinho if they have spotted it.

I think he's been good since he arrived, but I do also understand why some are perhaps underwhelmed. I don't agree, but I understand it. I think it's cos of expectation really - I think some were expecting something a little different. There are clips of him dribbling and beating loads of people etc. A proper Brazilian flair striker. Since he's here he's actually not shown not *that* much of that. Bits of it, but not loads of it. He's largely been a pretty modern take on the old school number 9 so far. Works hard, good touch, links up play, intelligent movement, poachers goals. Some nice flicks and so on, but not this mad flair Brazilian striker.

That isn't a criticism, just an observation. There was loads of people saying he's the heir apparent to the original Ronaldo etc, and the clips that were online showed a young striker who ran at people and beat them often. So I do understand why the current Jesus may be different to what some expected. Once again - I'm not criticising him. He's been largely very good, but I do agree with those that say he hasn't been truly exceptional yet. No doubt he can get there though, but there is a long way to go. Let's hope he gets there for us. For his price he looks an absolute bargain given how far he could go in the game. Can't help but think we've not even seen close to what he can do yet though...

the thing i have with him coming back from his injury is the world cup in the summer does he take his foot of the gas knowing its always a gamble coming back from injury and every chance of picking up another injury so will just not give 100%. forget playing time needed for the world cup he starts for Brazil in the summer even if he does not kick a ball again this season for city. a lot of money has invested in him by the brazil fa in corporate sponsorship image rights he has to play in the world cup even it means not playing again this season for city

everything is setup for him this summer and the biggest stage is the world cup and i see them have a big say on his return and don't have him playing 100% or even don't have him play at all. have this feeling he will break down again or the injury is not fully healed and city fall for it

he seemed to arrive and play his fancy game, it was good and confused opposition. Before injury he had less effect and seemed to change tactics. Poor guy has has 12 months and two longish injuries. He is defo talented, sooner he comes back the better. He is a very good finisher and what he has that is better than any other forward player including Sergio is to see a pass coming in to the 6 yeard box and tap it in.. How many passes fizz across the 6 yard box only for or attackers to be half a yard behind.

would put money on it that jesus would have put us 2 up Vs burnley with the miss of our season !

I think the flair is absolutely there but it's just that he's so good nobody notices it. He doesn't make a big thing of it, he just does it.

He's not a traditional greedy Brazillian showoff, so he'll pass when Neymar would keep the ball.

Some of his touches are out of this world imo & there is loads more to come.
