Gabriel Jesus

I wonder at what point he's planning on doing that? Seems out of character to me. From what I can tell he's about loyalty and the team winning over personal attention. Maybe it's not a big deal at all but wouldn't announcing it before or telling the media you aren't announcing until after be better for the Brazilian team?

I'm not upset at all I'm just not finding the logic here.
TBH maybe he said during the Olympics because everything isn't finalized leading up to the week that they start. He could also make it official after the Olympics. Brazil are the favorites so assuming they get to the final he won't confirm until August 20th it looks like and that wouldn't make too much sense to wait that long with everything missing just the announcement. As far as his loyalty, he made sure that he's going to finish out the season because as I've watched, they haven't won a game since he left for Olympic duty 1D 2L and have now slipped to 3rd.

dont get me wrong its fantastic that we are looking like signing this kid, but one thing that does peeve me off slightly is the fact he's probably only coming here for pep, not the club. now thats great that pep can attract a mercurial talent like gabriel jesus, but i'd rather a player who wanted to come play for the club, not the manager. hopefully the talk of him just coming here for pep is conjecture

Tbf, a 19-year old Brazilian probably wouldn't ever have an English club atop his list, with places like Spain and Italy a naturally easier transition.

Yes now its the manager, however after three years they will be signing for the club. The future is blue.

This.

I think this is a benchmark signing, when we're fighting off the likes of United, Real and Barca to get a prospect as hot as this. And frankly, I don't care if he's coming for Pep, for us or for Chappy. He's coming, he'll be on the pitch, he'll give it his all. Incredibly exciting times.

Id like to think that it did,t take too much fighting with the Scum.

While English media focus on the lazy "new Neymar" tag, they fail to include his Olympic interview quotes where he explicitly states, he's not trying to be Neymar and he's not looking to party and hang out. He's obsessed with football and he's headed to work with a manager just as obsessed as he is.

Pep is just one facet of the club. Though players may say they're coming for him, without our recent success and investment he wouldn't be here and neither would they consider signing.

He is a part of the reason the club is moving into the highest echelons of the world game. We have to hope that the club continues to build on his work long after he has gone and I have no doubt, with our current owners, that our long term planning is already in place and covers well after Pep's departure.

Pep & Gabriel Jesus. Same mindset.
Really looking forward to seeing this guy in a City shirt.

I was thinking of that quote this morning when looking at Sky's leading story which is Pogba partying in Las Vegas before coming over. Interesting comparisons coming up this season.

Haha Chappeh. Love him.

Thought of the exact same thing as soon as I seen that this morning.

I think Pogba's gonna be shit for them tbh, I don't think he has enough quality support and will end up a clogger trying to get the ball for them rather than doing anything Yayaesque.

But enough about him, more about Jesus.

Fucking hell i'm looking forward to this season, but i'm looking forward to next season even more!!

Where are we with Gabriel Jesus? Because it says here and here (In Portuguese) that rumour has it he's already been signed. Is this even possible?

Last I heard, we have full agreement with Palmeiras for around 32mil euros and he's told teammates he's moving to City. I would guess, its done, just waiting for him to complete his time with his Olympic team and then officially sign.

Very few players go and sign for a club because they want to go and play for that club. Especially when it's a club in a different country you have absolutely no affinity to at all, and especially a club like us as we've not exactly been known for decade after decade of success and probably haven't been well known in South America until recently.

But even then it's mostly about money.

If you were an exciting young English player and the Brazilian league was the top league on the world and Flamengo and wanted to sign you but Sport Recife also showed interest who would you rather sign for?
But then what if Recife came into a load of money and offered you more?
Or if a really exciting manger was at Recife and phoned you up?
But then Flamengo came in at the death and offered you even more money?

Indeed, mate. My hope is that we are well on our way towards building a dynasty. And I believe we are.

Yeah it could be a good while mate before these young foreign stars start playing for City for free like they do at utd.

We are. With Pep we are slowly moving in to the top tier of World football. We are already starting to beat the likes of Real and Barca to players. In 5-10 years, youngsters from all over the world are going to be saying things like: I grew up watching City and players like Aguero and KDB and it was always my childhood dream to play for them.

CTID.
