I've seen 3 or 4 of his games since we were linked with him, not in the stadium, but watched the whole game. It's not as good as being there, but obviously you get a much better grasp than watching Youtube highlights.
From what I saw he is seriously quick. I mean absolute lightning from a standing start, like Walcott quick. He's also a fighter / a grafter. His determination reminded me a bit of Tevez, not frightened of anyone and will fight for every ball. I don't think the physicality of the PL is going to a big obstacle for him, although he does tend to make a huge meal of it when he gets fouled, which referees and opposing fans will get on to very quickly.
I have to say on the negative side though, I was a bit worried about his first touch. He reminded me of Iheanacho a bit in that he's clearly an intelligent player, clearly has excellent technique and huge potential, but he does sometimes miscontrol / take a heavy touch and give the ball away. Maybe this is just nerves, or the eagerness of youth, or he's still developing his technique, I'm not sure. He's technically very good, but he's not at the level of Sane or Sterling at controlling and running with the ball imo. Yet. He's obviously still developing.
I think people expecting him to come in and take the league by storm and expect him to drag us to the title are expecting too much too soon from him. He's 19 years of age. Probably the best 19 year old I've ever seen was Anelka, and I don't think he's close to the level he was at the same age. I think more realistic comparisons are Sane and Iheanacho - huge huge talents, among the best in the world at their age, definitely ready to play at the top level, but not yet quite at the level to be playing in every game and being a key member of the team.
I expect him to come in and do well - maybe have two good games followed by an indifferent one. I'm sure he'll score a few goals for us. But those expecting him to come in and tear the league apart, be our best player and win the Balon D'Or in his first season are going to be disappointed I think.
Don't want that to sound like a downer - he's probably the signing I've been most excited about at City after Aguero, but I just don't want people to heap unrealistic expectations on the lad. Let him settle in and develop a bit before we expect match winning performances every week.
