Am I missing the point with this guy???? He can't defend, great going forward but exposed horribly in big games. Is he that much of a step up from Kolorov? Who has now played in the league and will have a full pre season behind him

I think he will be a much better player with a better defensive team to work with. he didnt have a great season last year, but he was class for the couple years before that. he certainly has the physical tools (i believe he will now be the fastest player we have) and roberto has a record of improving the mental side of defenders (see Micah Richards).

I'm not sure we will have a first choice, wouldnt surprise me if they both had played 30 games each.
With 60+ games coming up, i think they'll rotate, but having Clichy to play against pace (when Kolarov is really exposed) is a big step up....
Think what Dyer for Leicester did to Kola last year.... and that's against Leicester.
Wouldn't happen if we had Clichy in against pace.
