In a genuinely world class team, offensive threat via mobility is critical in the LB/RB positions.

GC brings this to our team - he just has to work on maintaining defensive integrity.

But based on yesterdays performance it is not unreasonable to think that he is the best in his position in the PL today.
He didnt even make the french squad, have you seen him play for france lately? People think he's a joke over there

And yet he's miles better than Evra this season, just like Richards (who can't make the England squad) has been miles better than Glen Johnson this season.
yes he's been better than him this season, but last season when he played for france, he made several mistakes....like the goal belarus scored against france

Is this the latest guise of the bluemoon legend that is gooney?

... You still have responded as to how Samtos is a better defender despite not being able to defend.
he is not....and you need to read what I wrote. I said he's worse defender....quite a bit worse actually

Sorry - struggling to find the reason - should it exist - in your argument.

"Have I seen him play for france lately?" - hands up that's a no - but I have seen him play often for MCFC and that's the basis on which I form an opinion.

"People think he's a joke over there". Whilst I'm not sure where "over there" is, if it's anywhere in France - working as I do for a French multi-national I have to tell you that you're a tadd deluded if you think that he's "a joke'. Unless both you and they were confusing Clichy with opinion concerning the arrogant rag muppet known as Evra?

Listen carefully. i have watched Clichy for years. He's a world class defender in terms of ability without doubt. Been watching this guy since he made his debut for arsenal.

Only negative he had was every now and then he made a howler. He was 9/10 times very very good, and then he made a howler and you thought woow what was that.

So yes he hasnt made any mistake yet, so you are seeing the Clichy who replaced Cole and made the team of the league and was seen as world class.

All Im saying is if he continues like this and take the big mistakes of his game......then he will easily be the best left back in the league.

And dont talk about Evra, he's been wank for 2 years and been living on his early reputation. I do think if Clichy continues like this he will make the France squad and Evra will miss out. Blanc wants a reason to drop Evra for good, but sadly for Clichy last time he got a chance to make that spot his own, he failed by making few mistakes and one huge one that lead to defeat

It's funny, go on over to the Chelsea boards. A few of their own fans are mocking 'Ashley best LB in the PL Cole', their words not mine.

I can say with some certainty that Clichy wouldn't have let Glen Johnson walk the ball into the net from 10 yards beyond the box.
