Clichy is none for lapses of concentration. I find it funny how he's hailed as great signing because he's had a great start, But if he had the opposite start we would hear about patient and how you shouldnt judge players in 2 months after joining new team.

Clichy has always been great, his only weakness has been lapses of concentration, lets see if he's over them. But the play he has shown for City is what he has shown for Arsenal + the mistakes. If he only makes 1-2 mistakes this season then fair enough. i just think his weakness will come out soon enough.

Clichy is better defender than Santos, but Santos is better attacking fullback, already equalled Clichys goals for Arsenal in 6 years within 10 games

I asked the very same question about a month ago... The reason Arsenal sold him is cos he wanted out.. Its as simple as that..

Clichy is a top notch defender.His performance yesterday for me was "MoTM".Goals scored don,t come into it.

I'd rather have a better defender. Every piece of defending looks like a problem for Santos. He is very good at set pieces... But he is not an elite LB. Arsenals defensive buys were a mystery. A CB who lacked pace to an exposed backline. And a LB who didn't have a defensive pedigree.

As for his weaknesses, I'm not sure what you're implying. He shut down Nani and Bale/Lennon for 180 minutes. Arsenal was and still is the problem for many of their players.

We didn't want to sell, he wanted to leave. Clichy has always been a consistant performer for us. Defensively he's usually solid.

The main problem we had with him is that he can have a drop in concentration from time to time. Its usually rare but when it happened it would come in the worse moments like his mistake that cost us the title in 2008 against birmingham.

His attacking play is nothing special but in general he was one of our most reliable players week in week out.
