Gael Clichy

All the strikers and big names so to speak, take all the plaudits and are always mentioned.

Clichy apart from on this forum, rarely ever get's any attention and hardly any recognition.

It's been so long where i could say i was happy with our current LB, it's been a place in the team we've never had a strong player or anyone i know has felt confident about.

Now with Clichy, i've never felt more comfortable for as long as i can remember. Our current back 4 is the best i've ever seen in my generation, for a change now i actually feel like were hardly gonna concede. Unless we make an error or gift a goal cause i believe were that good at the back.

If you take away the players who put the ball in the net and look down the other end of the pitch for a change. in many ways even though we signed the Aguero's and the Silva's, you could say Clichy could be possibly the signing of the summer.

Fucking perfect

He's just so calm on the ball. When Bridge (and to a lesser degree Kolarov) would have the ball around the edge of the box near the corner flag, all I'd want him to do is hoof it out of danger. Without taking risks, Clichy has the ability and composure to play the ball out, retaining possession. Top player, and a bargain too!

Weve got that Gael Clichy, woah, that Gael Clichy, we've got that Gael Clichy and he's fast, fast, fast, woah woah woh!

To the tune of 'you've lost that loving feeling'

In a genuinely world class team, offensive threat via mobility is critical in the LB/RB positions.

GC brings this to our team - he just has to work on maintaining defensive integrity.

But based on yesterdays performance it is not unreasonable to think that he is the best in his position in the PL today.

And yet he's miles better than Evra this season, just like Richards (who can't make the England squad) has been miles better than Glen Johnson this season.
