Gago and Madrid....

I couldn't make out what the reasoning behind it was, but yesterday talksport were talking about this, and they had an agent on saying its common for clubs to leave it till last minute to make bids. Not just us, most of the clubs do it. Its something to do with money, but didn't catch the full interview. Probably to see if they can get them cheaper, however I must say that if the agent of Gago is correct, and we had nothing prepared, its pretty poor on our part. We are supposed to be making contacts as we progress, to make negotiations easier if and when we start winning things and start attracting bigger names. The Kaka debacle made us look amateur, at best, and if this is the truth about Gago, its not great on our part either. Fuck all hat 'using us' nonsense though, agents always use clubs for their clients, just like the fornicator Terry did in the summer to get a better deal.

City are getting a lot of criticism over this Gago deal. If this is not justified then why does'nt Cook come out and say so. He is not shy in singing our praises even though we have done nothing yet. If it was Madrid playing silly buggers with the transfer fee then let's hear about it from the City side.

Fernando Gago will miss Manchester City finally, despite the English club even offered yesterday to 18 million euros for the Argentine. The final push of the British entity occurred in the last market day and time could not provide bank guarantees and contract that required him to Madrid to finish the operation.

The City was negotiating since early yesterday morning with McDonald Mariga, the Parma midfielder, but by noon had confirmation that he would not get a work permit to play in the Premiership and, if that were not enough, two hours closed his move to Inter. Along the way, the leaders of the City resumed operation and telephoned Gago Florentino and Valdano.

Change.

Madrid had made the idea not to transfer to Gago because it had not reached any offers for him high enough to compensate for the loss of an important bench player, but City made a proposal for 15 million and it changed the scenario. Even before the interest of Mancini, English coach, at six in the afternoon came to rise to 18 million, agreed to Madrid. But the lack of time botched the operation. The papers and bank guarantees were not closed even when the market in England.

Gago Madrid had begged him to let him out to play the World Cup. Therefore, the club agreed to negotiate with the City. Now that Argentina has pledged to be part of rotations and will have minutes this season, although Pellegrini has given only 579 minutes so far.

Even with all this money, we've got to make sure we go about things the right way. If we want to cheat and sneak and play games we may as well all support the rags.

I hope we are doing things the right way, but there is something worrying about so many people coming out and criticising the way we do business.

One or two, it may be jealousy and sour grapes but it's story, after story, after story.

But Eastlands chief Roberto Mancini seemingly preferred to sign Kenyan star McDonald Mariga and City agreed terms with Parma.

Fuck Off blaming Cook. Its getting rather tiresome now.

Some rags get in under the radar have a quick dig at Cook and then all the usual suspects are on his case.

When you say a lot of criticism, do you mean an arse who tried extracting a little more out of City and it backfired and an agent who lost a wedge of money because the arse at the club was too greedy??

I'm curious - other than Moyes, who else has criticized the way we do our business?
