Galatasaray (H) | CL | Post-Match Thread

To be fair, it is more fun.
It's fun for ten minutes, but very hard to keep up. I guess it does keep the interest going but adding another two games to the season doesn't work for me.

Huge improvement needed then, as soon as teams get their intensity up and start prrssing high up the pitch, we cant keep the ball like we used to. Our pressing is also a mess, some of them seem to do it, some not, so late to the man most of the time or not at all.

Watch it back second half we went to press on the corner of their box and they nearly ended up scoring because haaland was stood behind his man not pressing and that was there out ball….

Haaaland doesn’t look fit to me

If he is then his application at times is beyond wank

No point pressing when he’s stood around like a lollipop man
We played on the counter with Haaland/Marmoush/Cherki for the last 25-30 minutes and he seemed lost to me. Probably combined with playing too much or just not understanding how to play on the counter.

What's happened to the man of the match thread?
Mine was Doku until he went off .
Good performances from Nunes, Nouri, Cherki, Khus, Donna, Silva.
Not so good from Foden and Marmoush.
We over played it in the second half, and there were some bad final passes/decision making.

Marmoush simply isn't elite level imo. For a striker, he's too indecisive and lacks killer instinct. Not good enough as a back up for Haaland, not good enough as a wide man.

Phil is trying hard but nothing is coming off for him at the moment. The dilemma is that he has to play to get his mojo back, but we can't afford to carry him too long.

Agreed, but it feels like part of it is that he isn't getting the service. Few times tonight when a killer pass from the likes of Kev or Merlin would have found him and put him in on goal.

He's still got his best City days ahead of him though.

Sime shocking decision making second half and two bad misses in the first, but we did enough to get through, just about.
Thought RM were playing until they scored.

Absolutely wank, Marmoush.

Thankfully that lazy and at times brain dead second half didn’t end up costing us. So many poor decisions up top in particular
Good to see Ait-Nouri showing what he’s capable of when fit, a lot more to come from him
Khus very impressive against a top striker
Got to mention Bernie and Ake too

Good first half which we totally bossed, but Dokus departure affected our game, it was an awful, tedious 2nd half ...... City are masters at killing a crowds mood, and it's usually our own fans mood ..... we just about scraped through by the skin of our teeth.

one thing from that performance was that we now have 3 players who can play the rodri role including the big man himself....Nico G back and NOR played pretty well there with Bernardo along side him

Great finish from halland - loking a bit more like his old self ....

Doku was the best player on the part - hope its just a knock

Nunes and Khusonov were very good as well besides the odd minor wobble,

Like the ball from RAN that he headed wide ….

I think he would benefit more from RAN and Nunes starting more
