It just really wound me up that quote saying how much its "drifted" from the book. Well of course it has! The books are huge and if they tried to put everything in tv show there would be at least 30 episodes per season!

To those who have read the books which actor nails their part?
I think Rory McCann does a great job as Sandor Glegane - like all the actors really imo but what do others think?

Jack Gleeson who plays joffrey is by far the best thing in the show,aloso Conleth Hill who plays varys nails it.worse by far is the guy who is playing Mance Rayder, bag of shit and so far from the books its laughable.
Also Peter Dinklage is piss funny

The show is amazingly cast. I suffer a bit as I saw the first season of the show before I read the books, so I already had an image of what they looked/acted like. Of the introduced characters after season 1 I would say Stannis and Melisandre do very well. I think it's easier to say who hasn't done well, and I would put Mance in that category. However, I put that down to how his role was shown though, he was so much more at the front in the book.
That could all change in the fourth season if they choose to focus more on Mance with the attack on the Wall.
