I take the books to be the better guide as to what will happen next. Jon's Ceasar moment will probably be the cliff hanger as per Dance with Dragons. Gives HBO enough time to teleport Mel back to the wall for series 6. ;)

How's he going to be revived without Melisandre there? She stays at the wall in the books but has gone south with Stannis in the shows...

it depends where you think jons family tree sits..... The tv show continues to drop big hints, more so than the books.. There was a 'Neo' moment on this weeks episode, I'd expect him to die in the same fashion and resurrect, as the prophecy alludes to

The R+L=J stuff is really being hammered home. Him being Azor Ahai reborn is looking more and more likely. I just hope the show leaves it on the cliff hanger so I can get my hands on Winds before the next series. (Selfish much?)

Yeah, her accent does my head in, because I just remember as Cassie from Skins and I know she doesn't talk like that.

It's called acting. How do you know that was her real accent in Skins?

It's called acting. How do you know that was her real accent in Skins?

My daughter watched a stage show version of Chicago in Edinburgh starring Marti Pellow. She said it was fantastic but didn't see why Marti had to pander to the Scottish audience by putting on a terrible Scottish accent.

I don't think it is lightbringer. Surely the sword would be in flame or give off a radiance of sorts. I think it was more a case of valyrian steel being as effective as obsidian. I think Sam and Jon discussed the possibility of this after Sam found some old scroll that mentioned the qualities of Dragon Steel in 'Dance'. I think the series has taken the liberty to spoil/answer that mystery.

Of all the changes that HBO have made to Martin's story the Hardhome sequence was the absolute best. It made something that was merely implied/reported in the books come to life. (Not so mad on the skeletons on speed tho. ;))

I'm avoiding the spoilers on here as you are clearly discussing book plots and stuff not yet known.

A few of my friends were sitting around talking about the game of thrones the other night, a couple were just show watchers, the others were book readers and show watchers, we all had a guess as to who would be on the iron throne at the end of it all. 5 people gave 5 different answers which were:

Tyrion
Jon Snow
Stannis
Sansa
Nobody - the 7 kingdoms will be split down to rule themselves again as everyone with a claim will be dead (my guess)

Rather than spoilers anyone want to hazard a guess at who they think will be ruler at the end?

As much as I'd love to see Tyrion on the iron throne, there's no way the people or the families would accept him. Interesting that nobody thought Daenerys would be the ruler.
Personally I have no idea, but if I had to guess I would say Jon Snow.
