Game of Thrones (season 8)

Started, but didn't finish, watching it again last night and that bit really is superbly constructed on the whole. If I was being really picky, the opening tracking shot sequence does feature a bit where it looks like Tyrion is waiting for the camera to go by.

I set my picture to cimema rather than standard (never normally change from standard) and that definitely helped; be interesting to see if it does so all the way through.
Set my (LG) picture mode to sport. Worked a treat.

Both dragons survived - they're in the episode 4 trailer. Drogon has a big hole in his wing mind. Rhaegal looks in better nick as he flies over the ship.

The problem with the "encoding" by amazon etc is a lot of the issue. They have changed their settings for the worse, less quality in short. A quality tv or monitor can work around this. You should not have to of course but thems the breaks. Even the bluerays suffer from the issue we saw (banding) for example season 7 needed filtering to fix the blueray sources even. So it is not even exclusive to streaming sadly but bad mastering in some cases.

Back to the show, i noticed upon...

The NK's death. One of his lackeys just caught a whisper of Arya just before she struck. On a second viewing with my settings changed i saw this clearly. I was not still trying to process the last dark scene in my ikkle brain. That was actually very good, it speaks to Arya's training. That was all i needed/wanted for that scene and it was a "fix" for me definitely.
It's not just Amazon mate, I watched it on Sky Atlantic on a near top of the range Samsung with curtains shut and had problems seeing some scenes.
