Game of Thrones (season 8)

Why did Khaleesi go ape shit on the towns people? I can understand her destroying the towers, fortifications and the armies in-spite of any collateral damage, but it didn't really make sense to then just destroy the whole town where normal people were. I know they're trying to turn her in to the mad queen but its like shes gone nuts in one and a half episodes. They're fucking this up.
anyway, arya is going to fuck her up last epsiode.

She said it herself earlier in the episode. No one in Westeros is going to love her, word will get out about Jon and people are naturally drawn to him and would want him to be their king so she will rule by fear and what strikes fear more than destroying two thirds of kings landing and most of it's people? I think if they had more episodes they probably could have done her descent into the mad queen better but still that was brilliant TV.

Just finished ep5, just fucking wow. Prob the best episode of the entire show. Just epic beyond words.

I do think Cersei got off lightly. After everything she did she deserved a worse death. Joffrey got poisoned, Tywin got shot by his own son, Walder Frey ate his own family in a pie, Ramsay eaten by his own dogs. Her death was kind of lame just getting crushed.

Have watched it twice now and think it's great. Yeah, they've reached this point a little too efficiently for it to have its full effect, but all that does is stop this episode from being an entry into the top ten. It's a top thirty episode, and that's just fine by me. A truly horrifying last hour that makes you look at Daenerys' entire arc in a different light.

"I will take what is mine. With fire and with blood, I will take it."
"I was born to rule the Seven Kingdoms, and I will."
"When my dragons are grown, we will take back what was stolen from me and destroy those who have wronged me. We will lay waste to armies and burn cities to the ground."

You can't say it wasn't always coming.

I suppose there is an argument to be made that it was the most fitting end, being literally crushed by the weight of her ambition.

I am not saying I think that, but it is *an* argument. ;-)
