FWIW, I agree with @FantasyIreland , but I don’t think that will surprise anyone in this thread.

I just think its limping to an end,much of that episode was far too shallow and it felt forced in parts - the show,the characters,and we,the audience,deserve better.

That’s my feeling for the entire final series thus far.

GoT will still be one of the best “premium” shows in history, I just feel the final series is a bit of a let down.

As @quiet_riot said, the Dany on her dragon raining down fire bit was far too drawn out (and I still am not sure it really is fitting for her character and story arc, even after reading a few articles arguing it is (including this one). Some of the events, actions, and decisions depicted in the last few episodes leading up to it seemed very forced to allow for the turn, rather than “organic” to make it seem the logical outcome. The missus, who up until now was arguing against my derision of this final series (vigorously in some cases), actually said she is starting to now feel it has lost it’s quality after last’s night showing. She is also very unhappy with what she sees as a misogynistic “retcon” of the Dany, Brienne, and even Cersei characters.

It's frustrating that basically every major storyline that has been carefully woven through 7 seasons is being knocked down one at a time in each episode. It's like they sat down and said. "we'll resolve that in Ep1, Ep2 can be about that thing we've been building up to for 11 years, Ep 3 can be the one where this plot gets wrapped up".

It's just not very...organic? More like a box ticking exercise than building to a crescendo. Things that could or should have happened several episodes apart to spread the story out naturally are being condensed into 1 Ep.

Dany should probably have taken more than 60 minutes to go from breaker of chains to burning 10's of thousands of peasants. The Jon telling Sansa, Sansa telling Tyrion, Varys telling everyone, Varys getting burned plotline could have started in Episode 1 or 2, not episode 4.

I went from thinking we were seeing an epic conclusion to one of TV's defining drama's, to feeling they're rushing the shit out of it right at the end for no reason what so ever. I can't even be bothered typing out everything that was wrong with that episode. I think quiet_riot summed it up pretty well.

the more I think about there being one final episode the more it saddens me they only did 6 episodes. The bulk of the final episode will surely be about Dany and Jon but that leaves so many potential characters were never going to see again.

Even if they did tie up all those characters, even if they have one last amazing battle scene , even if the dialogue is great and they do everything perfect ... it won’t matter.

she has always been a **** I'm not sure why anyone is surprised, it was a good episode and who says Cersi is dead? Ain't seen no body yet plenty more twists in this yet. Wonder is bran warged the horse in for his sister.
Saw today that they literally stole the night king scene from Abraham Lincoln vampire killer haha wtf is that about. This is all Georges fault for being so slow writing.
