Couldn't agree more although most will disagree. I hear the blonde one doesn't even get her kit off anymore.

Its not for everybody thats for sure, my missus hates it, too violent she reckons. She hates swords and people being horrible to each other lol

Nothing to do with it being popular, and I've not heard anyone in my work slagging it either. I just don't like it, and the soft pornography, for me, doesn't work, it's just lazy directing.

I was just watching Bless This House last night, that was a very popular series and yet I didn't slag it off. Mind you, you could have a point in that I hate Britain's Got Talent, Ant and Dec, David Beckham, Strictly Come Dancing, I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here........but in my defence, they're all shite.

I agree with you on those.

As for game of thrones I love watching it.
It's pure escapism for me, and extremely well made in terms of cinematography and superb acting, the standard of acting is higher than loads of movies imo.
For example if you look at a recent blockbuster like Alien Covenant, take away Michael Fassbender and the standard of acting is lower than game of thrones
It has every element for me, I love it.
 
Horses for courses, I have a mate at work who has very similar tastes in films, to me, obscure sci-Fi, horror, fantasy, and he doesn't like it.
Some people connect, others don't.
But that Love Island is a bag o shite though!

lol the first four seasons are a masterpiece

I would say the writing has got worse over the past few seasons but its still the best show on tv (competing with rick and morty)
