Garcia and his fans from last season

Last season Garcia had city fans split 2 ways. Half thought he was too slow and not very good, and half thought he'd improve in his second season and become a great asset to the club once he'd "adjusted" to the prem.

I was wondering who the "Garcia fans" would like him to get game time in front of? Yaya/Fern/Milner/Rodwell/Silva/Navas/Nasri?

I wouldn't choose him in front of any of those players!

Personally, I think he deserves a place in our squad. Of those 7 players you mentioned (Where's Barry?!), I see Javi Garcia as one of the strongest... defensively! We all need to look at him as man for the defensive part of our play. 'Cause he cant (and won't) bring anything to our offensive.

The sooner we can rid ourselves of this bloke the better,he has nothing to offer our first team and is preventing us signing someone who can.

A terrible purchase.

-- 23 Aug 2013 01:21 --

He's pub league in comparison to the above.

I can't see it either. He was in place of De Jong and now we have Fernandinho with Rodwell and Barry as back up. Garcia could be back up for Kompany, Nasti & Lescott but that's about it for me.
He should be given the chance though against lesser competition to show what he's worth and League Cup/earlier rounds of FA Cup

I think he reads the game well his main issue is speed.
Nige for example had pace to get across and tackle clean.

I don't view it as who he gets ahead of. More when to use him.

He is a good player and one i am happy to see on the pitch against most teams bar very fast attacks.

For the money we spent he must be a good player, but I just can't see it? I think Spanish/European must be his thing. Iv'e nothing against the guy, he always works hard whenever he plays, he's always knackered anyway, but he doesn't deserve a place in MF and any prem players would simple storm past him if he was in defence. Better for him and us if he goes back to Spain.

Specialised player imo. A couple of times last season (Madrid away, Chelsea home) he showed his talents and what he can offer the team. Add to that a transition from a substandard league to the toughest league in the world, and being placed into a position and tactical set up where his strengths weren't being utilised (comparable to Dzeko playing with his back to goal when that's not how he should play), it hasn't been an easy 12 months for Garcia. He's in Pellegrini's plans so hopefully that means he knows exactly how to use him. You never know, there still could be a player made of him yet.

Well he's already had pitch time, and we've only played one game, suggesting that Pellegrini at least has some faith in the guy.

Like I say I've nothing personnel against the guy, he tries his hardest when he puts on the shirt(which IMO is his only redeeming quality), but his best is not anywhere near good enough for our club, I wouldn't of thought he'd of got any game time if anybody but Vinnie had got injured, Kolarov would've slotted in and Zabba moved across if any other injuries, and not a prayer in MF!
