Garcia and Kolarov....

I think its do with biology with Garcia-he just cannot make his body do what his mind wants to do. Players simply stroll past him. I can't see how its an adjustment thing-he'll never be able to move quick enough.

Strongly disagree about Garcia he is a top class player. Unfortunately for him we have an established centre-back pairing and also have some very good defensive midfielders.

His control, and passing, tackling and heading is as good as anyones. I think he will go on to become a key player for City

I think you've been sniffing glue!

Garcia wasn't bad at all, he's a typical "neat and tidy" holding midfielder, problem is we have too much of that and you need a balance with mobile and creative midfielders. Playing Barry and Garcia together doesn't work, it's either/or.

But Kolarov is abysmal, truly truly poor. For someone in his wage bracket you expect a high quality backup like Real Madrid have Coentrao.

Can't defend, not a great passer, has no pace to beat a man with. Crosses usually end up looking like shots or shots end up looking like crosses, it's hard to tell which is which sometimes because he just hammers it without much thought and most of the time it ends up in the crowd or nowhere in particular.

Txiki's biggest job this summer will be finding someone to take Kolarov and his wages off our books as that will be a priority if we're trying to reduce our wage bill. I don't think Helan would offer much less, he runs fast and scares defenders without having much of a footballing brain. Also isn't good enough for City but earns probably around £80,000/week less. A player of Kolarov's standard should earn no more than £40,000-£50,000/week.

And the Spanish national manager too?

City struggled tonight because a lot of the team were playing on empty. Nothing to do with Garcia, although I don't like it when we play him and Barry together. Only works if Yaya gets forward a lot, and he wasn't. Basically the whole midfield just sat there and left the Wigan back 4 untroubled, and Nasri alone was left to run at them from deep.

But then you footballing dinosaurs probably don't rate him either

Hahahaha.

Sadly Garcia is not up to it and has to be replaced, neither is Kolorov we could perhaps try him as a holding midfield player but that's more out of hope than anything. At one point in the game we Kolorov, Lescott, Garcia next to each other and Wigan just put it over the top. We cannot have all three on the pitch at the same time its far too dangerous.

Can't agree more about Kolarov.

Kolarov has to be on the list to be sold if possible, maybe that's why Txiki gave Razak Nuhu a new contract?

He can't be any worse as a backup to Clichy and would definitely become a better player under Mancini and working with Clichy every day.

Kolarov was gash, Garcia did alright in comparison to the overall team performance, thought he slotted in nicely when asked to be a centerback i think the full defensive unit looked a shambles including the CDM's because company was far to stretched covering for all 3 of the 'liabilities' we call defenders (Richards was just coming back from injury i know so unfair to make a judgement on tonights performance)

What?? Were you watching a different game? He certainly slotted in but it was anything other than nice, every time they went near him I thought they were gonna score. To be fair though I'd actually cut him some slack over being awful at the back as its not his position and we were all over the place as a unit.

Im probably cutting him way to much slack, he looked a bit shaky but as did the rest of the team that's why i said comparative to the team performance, might not be the next Kompany but i preferred him to lescott strange as it sounds at least Garcia made his presence felt when having to deal with Kone unlike Lescott who looked more like he was participating in a Bromance as said again im probably cutting him slack due to the apparent lack of a defensive unit we really missed Nastasic

I don't think either were the reason for our performance tonight. I actually thought Kolarov did ok. At least he was trying to get forward and do something. It was clear that Yaya was knackered, Sergio is not fully recovered and until the goal Tevez did most things wrong. Nasri was Nasri which doesn't help when Milner isn't on the pitch.

We're in need of a midfield enforcer, a De Jong type. The Zabaleta of Midfield almost. someone who will put their heart on the line and is a bulldog in midfield who gives us a bit of bite and guile, Garcia isn't that type of player his style of play didn't best suit the physicality of this game.
