Garcia is absolutely not better than Carrick, not at the moment anyway. Carrick has been to them what Barry has been to us except even more crucial for them this year (carried their midfield). Garcia probably better than Cleverley and Anderson (who isn't even a central midfielder, Ferguson has ruined his career by trying to force him into the role) though.

I am sorry but all this slating of Garcia is quite frankly embarrassing.
Every new player needs time to settle both as a person and a player.
I don't believe this nonsense that doesn't matter how long you have been you can't teach PACEEEE!!!! that some on here seem to attach to Garcia every game.
It is pretty clear we did extensive scouting and background work on this deal and I am confident that given a pre season and more games under his belt he will be a good player for us.
Far too many people hinged our summer on signing De Rossi or Martinez and have used Garcia as a scapegoat ever since.

Yeah he's so bad right the best National team of all time select him in their squad to play MIDFIELD which is where they base their style on he's really really shit and do you know what them spanish do not know their midfielders at all!

Garcia was very poor, after having a good run and looking like he was finding his feet in the team he was back to being very tentative in everything he did and being nothing more than a passenger in the middle. Maybe it's because he hasn't played in a while but for me it's a bit worrying that he still doesn't play with any kind of authority against a team like Wigan. He needs to start believing he is good enough to play for this team and he'll be a lot better.
Kolarov had a typical performance for him, some good and some bad. Strong running and I thought he did well in the second half going forward, his chop trick to get the ball onto his right foot was actually useful for once.

After seeing nearly a full season of him, he's just too slow. You can't fix slow. Nothing he shows us will ever make up for his lack of pace and passing ability. Relegation caliber players were running and passing circles around him.
Meanwhile Moussa Sissoko, who has 10x more football ability, cost 10% what Garcia cost.

Kolarov saved a certain goal in the first half by intercepting a cross that Kone would have tapped in and also provided the assist for the goal. There were a few players out there worse than him tonight.
We're a worse side when Garcia plays. Almost like clockwork. I think he's actually a better CB than he is a DM and that's twice this season where the Wigan midfield have completely embarrassed him. He does try hard, but just think his weaknesses are horribly matched with this league.
I think he should get another season though, hopefully as a squad player, but if he doesn't improve and TBH I don't see how he can RE the pace issue and the dallying on the ball issue, then he should go.
Kolarov is a wasteman. Sell him and if he refuses to go give him the Wayne Bridge treatment until he does.

Kolarov was abysmal... one specific incident in the 2nd half when Nasri chased down a ball and was stuck in the corner needing support, Kolorov almost walked over to him and by the time he got there Nasri was depossessed and Kolorov was hopelessly out of position. Lost count of the lazy misdirected passes he made... although he came alive in the final 10 minutes. Not good enough get shut.
