Keep seeing Garcia is a good player give him chance. He will not come good for us, zero chance of it. The worst midfielder I've seen for city for years, he's clueless.

Attacking, which is where you expect him to make up for being unable to defend, his crosses usually end up in the side netting or over the bar and his shots usually end making people in level two duck in fright. Sometimes his crosses (and free kicks) do come off but that is the law of averages coming into play where if you do something 100 times it's bound to work once or twice.
Yesterday he was in acres of space and his crosses were woeful, one actually had to be saved by the goalkeeper which he meant as a cross but looked like a shot because it was misplaced. You need only look at someone like Baines for attacking left-backs with proper end product, probably on half the wages too.
He would ideally go back to Serie A but we've given him such a big pay packet now it'll be hard to move him (according to TMW in Italy today, who were discussing Juventus' options for a new left-back, he earns £850k/year more than our first choice left-back!).

You'd play Nasty, Vinny and Zaba as the three, have Barry and Yaya as the two and Silva as the man in front with Aguero and Dzeko/Tevez alongside him.
For me it's a half hearted mimic of Juventus that he's used as a plan b width option. The problem is our midfield is much to slow to offer the adequate protection required for such a system.

We paid £15m for Kolarov, he's on near enough 100k pw too. That's £10k more than Arsenal paid RVP last season!
Another crackin bit of business we did then!
Too right. Just like Garcia, Rodwell (has real potential but most likely going to be a perma crock in all honesty, any evertonian would tell you the same), Sinclair and Maicon, just fucking tragic really.
I'm hoping the fat is trimmed, and we look for upgrades on what we have rather than more inferior quality players in the squad.
You're obviously watching another team.cccc said:Nothing wrong with Kolarov's passing. Far better than Clichy in that regard. He has a good football brain but as we know is a liability defensively. No getting away from that. He can put in a good last ditch tackle and on occasion defend ok but he lacks the concentration and in many ways he doesn't WANT to defend. He is a lot faster getting into positions then he is getting back to defend.
Last night he made a lot of good runs, his crossing was poor but usually it is a lot better than that. Don't forget he hasn't played in a month either.
Anyway, he will be off in the summer so no need to bitch about him more.

I keep hearing he's lazy, doesn't try, doesn't defend well and is inconsistent with his deliveries and free kicks..
I like him, I sit lower tier Colin Bell, so when he plays it's normally in front of me in the second half.
He always seems to be pushing the team forward, always trying to inject pace in to our attacks. He is more often than not playing in a weaker team, a team that is often struggling to break the opposition down. I see kolarov as a essential part in many games against the lower sides.
He drives us forward, and hits crosses and lots of crosses into the box. As discussed elsewhere, this is how United often break sides down, repeated hard hit crosses are inconsistent, but when effective lead to goals and mistakes leading to goals.
I know he's a little hit and miss, but so was Carlos, he was loved all over the world, I doubt his 20 year career yielded as many goals as Kolarov's so far.
Beckham was good for what 4,5 maybe six free kicks per season, Kolarov wouldn't be too far behind that in what a fifth of the games?
I hear time and time again what a poor defender he is, I can't think of a single goal that he was responsible for. I would be interested if anyone had any examples..
I agree he is not the best defender, but he's not the worst and I think whilst being way behind Clichy in our team, he is a very decent back up.
Except nobody is being used as a scapegoat are they?Blue Mooner said:The usual City fan disease of having to find a scapegoat. I thought Kolarov had an ok game, no worse or better than anyone else.
You won't have two better left backs anywhere else in the country. I like Kolarov and get him wide on that left foot and you can always sense that something good could happen. One of the sweetest left foots around and always a danger from free kicks.
With the lack of support he's getting he's probably lacking confidence.
I always feel sorry for the full backs at this club as they are the ones that will tend to get the vitriolic shouts all game and it can't do anything to help your performance.
Also, pretty sure Sporting last year he was at fault for one of their goals. First leg if I rememberKun Aguero said:schfc6 said:I never understand the hatred for Kolarov..

6 seconds in. Loses a 20 /80 in his favor.

City struggled tonight because a lot of the team were playing on empty. Nothing to do with Garcia, although I don't like it when we play him and Barry together. Only works if Yaya gets forward a lot, and he wasn't. Basically the whole midfield just sat there and left the Wigan back 4 untroubled, and Nasri alone was left to run at them from deep.
But then you footballing dinosaurs probably don't rate him either
