Gardening

I mowed the lawn yesterday

Need some spring feed on that mate. The grass has lost a little colour.

Got two magpies (feathered variety not Toon fans) in the garden doing a great job of getting rid of moss on the lawn. Absolute stars. Just need to keep the cat away from them.

This big winter has presented a huge vole problem in the valley, nature being such a crazy thing, it was really harsh on the big game, Moose, Elk and deer. However since we’ve started to melt off, badgers, coyotes, foxes and all the different hawks are having a great time

Anyone any sure fire ways of getting rid of Dandelions in the lawn?

Depends how many you’ve got. If it’s just a few then best to remove them by hand making sure you remove the long tap root. If you have lots, then you need to go down the weed killer route. Scott’s do a decent weed and feed in granular form for your whole lawn.
Even after treating deadhead the dandelions to stop them going to seed, else you’ll be back to square one.
Also don’t cut your lawn too short as it will weaken the grass and leave patches for the weeds to infiltrate
